I'm in for next year and will keep my eye open for another format. We could try NASCAR's: http://fantasygames.nascar.com/live '11 format: http://fantasygames.nascar.com/live/pages/how_to_play
Team Koford Playoffs Rank:12,337 (+8,308) Full Season Rank:9,567 (+2,927) Percentile:96th Segment Points:2875 Season Points:9782
I'll do whatever you folks want, makes me no difference. You wanna try a different league - let's do it. The one thing that kinda bugged me about Yahoo is the winner didn't get THAT many points more than a guy that finished 6-7-8, or so it seemed.
LOL, I have 13 fantasy football teams - added another one 3 weeks ago. I had four nascar teams, two of them in other leagues. Won those, too.
seriously, how do you keep up with it? do you use an Excel spreadsheet? I did this for S&G's, I don't think I would enjoy being that serious about it. btw, I like the idea of the NASCAR league mentioned above.
I'm not THAT serious about it or I would play in money leagues. I have colleagues that pay $1,000 each to be in leagues, third place gets $1,000, second gets $2,000, the winner gets the rest, $7-9,000. How I do it is simple: just a spiral notebook, change a team, turn the page, change that team, turn the page, and so on.
I thought about playing fantasy football but I just don't want to get that deep into it (i.e. picking, trading, tracking players etc), might cut into my FChat time. While logging into our NASCAR league recently I noticed that Yahoo has a pick'em game, http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem, which is more to my liking. I might give it a try; y'all interested for the balance of the season/playoffs?
FOX has one also, but I HATE the Fox website. The big plus is they don't have that damned A-B-C list: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For each race of the season, you can specify five drivers to earn you points for the race. One driver is designated the "Captain" and is worth twice the points. The season is broken into segments of 13, 13 and 10 races. The same driver can be used a maximum of four times per segment. This rule is important as it should play a role in building your roster strategy. Drivers earn points based on race finish and can earn bonus points for leading a lap, leading the most laps and finishing ahead of their qualifying position.
You say that now, but how do you assign salaries? If we didn't limit the number of starts, I would be willing to bet MOST teams would have #48 going EVERY race, and probably #99 as well. By limiting starts it forces you to consider if someone does really well on some tracks, and not as well on others. I just thing they need to let us take TWO drivers from the A list like they do the B list, and maybe make the drivers on the C list get double points. After you move Ragan, Menard and Smith to the B list, if anyone left on the C list gets a top-20 it's usually a miracle. (Ragan is out of a ride for 2012)
