Most racing mechanics are like that. You prepare a car and keep your emotions out of it. As the saying goes.....racing is a blood sport.

Some great racing and I always like to see somebody else than the regulars win :)

Must be a real handful to drive those big heavy cars around the track and having to take a hand off the wheel to reach down and grab the next shift. I hope one day to go to that race and get some shots of them bouncing off the curbs with two wheels high up in the air. It was also nice to see the lead changing with the different pit strategies forcing the stronger cars to constantly having to work their way up to the front again.

I watched Monaco this year. Spectacular venue, unreal race cars and very boring racing. I think I saw about five single car passes made the whole race and the winner pretty much led the whole way. I'm sure at a different venue the racing might be different but if you compared yesterday's race with the last Monaco, yesterday's race was jam packed with just about everything a race fan could hope for.

I love road course racing and NASCAR does a fine job of it. I wish they could find a way to get another course in the series. The Nationwide race saturday at Road America was just as good. Believe it or not the NASCAR drivers are very capable of turning both left AND right :D

BTW, I watched the Le Mans race and it was spectacular. The camera coverage was as good as I've ever seen and they raced hard from the very start. Passing had you holding your breath as the faster cars thread the needle through slower traffic. Going to Sebring and seeing those cars and drivers made it more relatable for me and after watching the 24 I'm now a fan.

wow! Kentucky will be a crash fest at the front! this will bode well for danica as the fast guys will be taking each other out. she may finish very well as there may be no one left at the end :)

she is not fast but she drives clean and really is able to avoid trouble. she literally just picked up seven spots!

I hate that Kurt caused that. he has been racing so hard this year for that furniture row team. it's been exciting to see him drive so hard. sch...it can happen.

while at road Atlanta last week, I ran into two hilbillies at a gas station who weren't road racing fans, but really wanted a NASCAR race at road Atlanta. I hope NASCAR takes the hint...

once again, the Busch brothers pee in the pool.

big hit for brad and a few other guys.

on the merits of speed...danica is still a moving chicane. she was able to jump up to the 17th spot due to crashes and pit strategy...now one by one she gets dropped by nearly all still running.

for a good finish, she will really be reliant on the chargers up front to keep taking each other out and to stay out of the inevitable debris.

but as they say...to finish first you must first finish:)
