    Unbelievable!

They aren't interrupting the NASCAR Truck practice and qualifying sessions with pre-season
    football too are they?

That would be the final straw.

    Two great races today.

Atlanta is wide enough cars can find clean air high/low, makes for some great racing.

MOSPORT was pretty spectacular to watch with the trucks as well. Its amazing just how fast the trucks get around that track, they are SCREAMING around that place! You don't get the feeling of speed on a speedway in quite the same way as the hills and twists of an old 1960's F1 circuit can give you.

Trucks were great, but they are 20 seconds a lap slower than the ALMS P1 cars :)

didn't watch Cup at Atlanta, started too late (see also: indycar).

cup race last night was a total joke. the cautions were thrown with design...often accordance w/ the lucky dog recipient contemplated.

clearly the chase story was being staged by the race control...

I love racing...all racing but it is getting very hard to watch this crap!!!

she got three lucky dogs to my knowledge and a good many of the fast cars had significant issues. but her finish is being played hard by the marketing group.

it was a lousy race...as the 1.5 milers often are. it was clear that before the final gwc's that casey was going to have to fend off harvick until the end...well, probably not:) shr is an essential hendrick package and I suspect harvick, having gotten himself a chase berth, would have allowed casey to stay out front to guarantee his spot. kenseth was not so keen but it worked out in the end for the 8 car hendrick team:)

I watched using race buddy on the #42, it was hardly a lousy race, quite exciting. I do wish racebuddy still had the driver radio, but a look at lap by lap text would help explain the yellows.

I did not at Michigan, the coverage of the race was pretty lousy, no focus on what was important. Maybe it was the same here.

    SPOILER alert........

    Anticlimactic :)

#2 led most of the laps with only the #24 barely keeping up.

No battles for a spot in the chase.

PSP finished 16th on the lead lap.

    No wrecks.

    No controversy

From here on out the one that makes the least mistakes will be Champion.

For those that didn't get enough NASCAR yesterday watching some great racing at Chicago you can tune in tonight at 8:00 pm EST and
watch Michael Waltrip fulfill his life long dream of wearing sequins and getting a spray tan when he takes the floor on Dancing With the Stars. :D

Dwts is looking to get danica next.

I suspect both nascar and dwts need the ratings help.

She cannot drive and I suspect she will not be much of a dancer either :)

Yeah, in his appearance at Le Mans driving a 458 GT, Waltrip was anywhere from 15 to
19 seconds off the pace of the GT AM class leaders. And, that was when his team mate
Kauffman wasn't running Rockenfeller off the track and causing his huge shunt.

How it was that the ACO didn't hold both of them out of the drive was anyone's guess.

A total of 14 cautions in a 300 mile race on Sunday at Loudon including a
    "green-white-checker".

Boy, that must have been endless hours of pure excitement.

Tell us again how NASCAR is the best show in motor sports?

gwc's are so predictable in NASCAR now that I enjoy races that *don't* end that way.

So, decided to check the updated points standings in our favorite series. It seems the
top 12 drivers are deadlocked with 3,000 points each.

This didn't seem quite possible on the first site so checked out the second and sure enough,
the top 12 tied with 3,000.

Even if this was remotely possible, and I'm saying the odds must be like a gagillion to one,
okay lost my train of thought...

Oh, right, so NASCAR has taken a farce and reduced it to a fiasco.

I guess they're resetting points after each "elimination" period in the chase (?)

although with the playoff scenario, what's the point of having points? old habits die hard I guess.

btw I'm rooting for Ryan Newman.

dude hasn't done crap all season and has manipulated the scoring into the Chase. would love to see it exposed as the farce that it is.

Guess I'm out of the NASCAR loop (probably for the best) but how can the top
12 drivers all have 3,000 points?

I still maintain that the whole thing is a ruse to hand Dale Jr. Jr. Jr. the championship. So,
yes, hopefully someone will come along and ruin their carefully laid plans. But, don't count
    on it.

It has already been exposed as a farce, especially last year, when they allowed Jeff Gordon
in because someone in NASCAR "felt sorry for him". This is a fiasco but wait until next year
when they hold positions open for Jesus as emeritus contender and Dancia Patrick because
she looks so good in a bikini.
