    NASCAR just handed down a 100 point penalty for the 24 (Gordon) and 48 (Johnson) teams and suspended the crew chiefs for 6 races and fined them 100k each for the issues with the front fenders at Sonoma.......

    I understand that the front fenders weren't supposed to be messed with at all. Hendrick thought the car still fit the template, NASCAR thought different. Bad for Johnson, he dropped from 3rd to 5th in points.
