What is going on in this case? This gets more and more strange by the day, and still yet no body on such a small island.

    Thoughts?

There are at least 4 people on the island that know EXACTLY what happened. They should spend some time at Abu Grahb ...............then see if they talk. Sorry, but I'm totally in favor of "convincing" them to talk.

latest report- they now arrested the judge himself. no wonder they got a judge from another island to officiate in earlier proceedings. It sounds like the kids knew what was up, and didn't want to rat out dad- maybe i'm speculating, but this is looking even more evil than i first thought...drunken kids, rape, freak-out, murder, conceal crime. Now, it may be even worse if an adult was involved. Sorry for the girl and her family.... From what i heard, one side of that island is a shark feeding ground- she's gone in my estimation.

I've dived on Aruban beaches, wrecks and reefs on several occasions..staying away from the north shore is key due to hammerhead shark feeding grounds...I think it would be quite easy and efficient to dispose of a body out there...

I wouldn't be suprised if she died accidentally (OD or something) and these guys who were hoping to score, panicked and got rid of the body. Murder, maybe (motive??), accident followed by bad judgement, likely. Tragic no matter how you slice it. Stay tuned.

I too am really sorry for the family as well as her class mates. Imagine if you were with her that night in the club and told her she should go with them or something along those lines.

But it is just so strange how this is all unfolding. 5 people in custody, plus the other 2 that were detained and then released. And still no information !?!?!?!?!?

I'll throw my two cents in..........

I think with the arrest of the party boat DJ, drugs were involved. Probably something she didn't know she was taking. I think what happened to her was sinister and at least three of them know exactly. I'm speculating that the son of the Judge went to his father for council and that is not protected from testimony. The dad is going to jail for not giving the son up. I think this will break in time.

I feel so bad for the family. I hate these stories, with these kids lives ahead of them.

On another note, when I heard about this initially, I was thinking, these kids are to young to be "beach weeking" on a Caribbean Isle. That's for college kids........

Sounds like these kids(and Dad) will crack soon enough. The authorities probably just don't want to jump the gun until they've got things nailed down.

Definatly. I noticed watching one of the segment of interview with Gretta Van Sustrien that the dad was sweating profusely. Althought everyone looked hot, he just looked very uncomfortable with the whole situation.

If your son was going away for life would you sweat? Then again, maybe he was involved........

And now the patented Horsefly opinion:
NONE of the news reports that I have seen even touched on the fact that, here was an 18 year old girl, under the drinking age in many states, who was hanging out in a bar, late at night, with strangers, in a THIRD WORLD country, and WOW!!!,.......something happened to her!!!!!!

    Who would have guessed it?

Sounds like she went looking for some wild life, and actually found some.
    And whose fault was that???

I think she was on vacation and looking for some fun. I'm sure she didn't bargain for getting offed by the local judge's son.(if that's what happened) I'll bet it's not the first time these kids have tried this and unfortunately this time things went too far(i.e. if they are in fact guilty) Certainly a warning to parents letting their kids travel unattended.

Good call....... I think so too. I'm hoping someone comes forward if there is a pattern of behavior.

Arresting the judge will finally break the case, IMO. According to FOX his son has had some trouble before with anger management and was in counseling. He drove underage, went to clubs underage (18 is legal I think), all with his parents full knowledge.

While it is pure speculation on my part, I could easily see drugs involved. Attempted sex and a refusal, he got angry, and possibly she was thrown overboard.

I'm sure her parents are going through hell, although letting a kid travel unattended in a party place like that seems a little foolish. By all accounts she was a good kid, as were her companions. Pity.

I'm sure it would be in EXTREMELY bad taste to point out that her mom is hotter, so i won't do it.

I'm interested in seeing justice in this case and appreciate the updates the news is providing.

I could care less about the "runaway bride" I hope whoever is paying her looses their shirt.

I hate this story. If an 18-year-old fat stupid ugly black girl* disappeared in a foreign county, do you think we'd be hearing about it all the time?

And regardless, how about some real news, not anecdotal human interest stories? The major networks are barely distinguishable from the tabloids now. Hell, last night Fox had a reporter broadcasting from inside the hotel room Holloway stayed in. How fascinating is that? Gee whiz, she slept in that bed right there. Look, one of her socks! That covered my appetite for interesting, relevant, significant news right there! Time for bed.

Why can't we just wait until all this has been cleared up, and then catch the documentary on CourtTV?

*not saying any of those adjectives are related

I tend to agree with the "non-news" point of view. Yes, its tragic and yes I feel for the family and yes I hope they catch those responsible and kill them in some heinous way....

But, this is all over the news like its the biggest event of the century. Last week the US Supreme Court issued a ruling that changed fundamental property ownerships rights in this nation in a dramatic, dangerous and massive way. Govt. can now sieze your land and force you to sell it to another individual simply because the new owners use of the land will yield the Govt. higher tax revenues. A HUGE ruling having dramatic and long reaching impacts on all Americans who own real estate.

Did we hear much about this in the news? Nope, not compared to this Holloway story....

    Pathetic.

....who hit the third world night clubs for a little under age drinking. One reaps what one sews. And sometimes, one doesn't get a second chance.

But this is really nothing new. Hasn't the same kind of thing occured numerous times down in Tijuana?
