    Hi all -

My dad has a 2001 RR Silver Seraph Concours, and it has the antiquated (but still functional) built-in Alpine GPS navigation system.

The problem is that the technology of the day made the maps regional, a problem 'solved' by Alpine by using multiple discs for different regions. His car originated in California, and as such, has the CD/DVD for that region. It does him no good in the north east US where the car is currently operated.

I have suggested retrofitting a Garmin unit to the flip-up panel in the dashboard, but he wants the car 100% original, as it is the only Concours Edition car we have ever seen in a two-tone paintjob. As it is, it's 1 of only 22 CE cars.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have a lead on these discs, or, by some stroke of luck want to trade a 'north east' disc for a 'south west' one? I'd assume that the Bentley Arnages equipped with the navigation would use the same discs, but cannot say this with certainty.

    Best regards-
    Matt

Have you tried contacting Bentley (who would have built the car)?

Yes, we have contacted Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Alpine. None of them were of any assistance.

Check with a BMW dealer. This is a common question on a site for VW Phaetons, that may have similar regional map discs.

I don't think the BMW discs are compatible, with the original Alpine systems, or that they will have the part no.

Agreed. The satnav from 2001 is probably fairly useless anyway. Much better to use an up-to-date TomTom or similar actually to navigate, and take it out when you want the car to look the part.
