My recently aquired 458 is going into my incar guys on Monday to have a traker/immobiliser fitted there pretty good guys probably the best in their field in the UK I am just curious is it an easy task to remove the factory fitted Ferrari NavTrak?

NavTrak is a standard default OEM fitment on UK supplied cars. I presume they make it hard to find in the wiring loom. It was take-over by Vodafone when they bought Cobra. I have head of Vodafone techs visiting dealers when there were issues with the system. Typical problems are with the backup battery. On the 458 it is their basic system, you could just not renew the subscription rather then try to remove it completely.

The subscription is no longer valid the system originally came with two cards you're meant to have the card on you when you start the car on a valid subscription but these have been lost between owners and I don't want the system anyway as the Metatrak system I have on my other cars is insanely good that's whats being fitted to it

The reason I want it removed is that it drains the battery even with no subscription the system is still powered up and draws power 24/7

I am hoping my incar guys can remove it before they fit the new one.

I was just hoping someone on here may have had experience in removing it

Parasitic current draw on the 458 is a long topic on FChat, member has reported it to be 40 – 75 mA depending on whether the alarm is set or not. The NavTrak contribution to that is unknown. There are many installs on older UK cars that report problems that result in constant calls from the control center.
