    Yes. Everyone is A-Ok.

I'll let Hubert and Noah tell the story. They made the trek to Rene. I was too busy playing TOCA 2 (Damn you Noto!) :)

It looks like there should have been clamps on there. If so, it shouldn't be a big deal... hopefully that's all it is.

Just looks like a freak accident that happened. Both air inlets slipping off like that. When did you realize that happened?

He noticed it when the engin caught fire.

My theory is that he hit something hard, it jolted the motor in one direction and the intakes in another and that popped the inlets out, a bit of fuel into the mix and -- wham. Fire.

Still, though, I'd get the car checked ASAP.

Ok, I think we need a little synopsis on this event...I know that he called you frantic about the car, then Noah went out to meet up with Rene, we saw the damage and there was also a fire!? Doesn't look like there was much damage from the pics. I hope that's the case...

Yeah. Doesn't appear to be any damage from fire. Quick little flash of some sort or was the engine compartment actually caught in flames?

all i can tell u playaz is that Rene called me on the phone and frantically yelled on the phone "My engine just blew up!!!!! i see smoke every where!!! My air intake popped open!"

so after hearing this....of course I just dropped everything i was doing and bolted over to the LIE (was in SoHo at the moment with my girl). Got to the scene and I see his engine compartment separated from his air intake inlets.
Was glad to see Rene was in one piece unharmed and his car safely pulled over to the shoulder of the LIE w/o any pieces blown up or anything.

I think I was just there more for the comforting and not for the technical **** because i dont know **** about car mechanics. good thing everything was taken care of carefully. but rene....definitely get the car checked out. that was some wierd a$$ **** that went on!
