My one yearly tradition is to go to the LA Auto Show on Preview Night - I think tonight was my 7th or 8th time. The crowds are thinner, access to the cars is better, guys bring out their smoking hot trophy wives and there's excellent food and drinks. The ticket price is steep at $125.00, however most of that money goes to benefit Homeless Health Care of Los Angeles so it's all for a good cause.

I took over 600 shots last night. I tried to weed out the bad ones but there are still a few in the set that are a little blurry - I guess I was moving kind of fast. There are also some that are slightly under/over exposed, but car show lighting is rarely ideal and switching from one display to the next can mean drastic changes in available light.

Anyway, this should be most people's first comprehensive look at what's there and hopefully you'll enjoy clicking through. I really liked the Audi R8 - more than I thought I would - and the white Exige S was to die for. Also got to see my first Koenigsegg CCR and I took way too many pics of it. That car is stunning and has some great detailing - I was really impressed.

You are so right about the lighting, but great shots, Pel. I was on assignmnet and had to cover certain press conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. Because of that, I actually missed quite a few cars so I was very glad to see your pics. Thanks.

Nice pictures I really like that Solstice. I would really like to see a LS1 solstice priced in the range of a 33-35kish.

Are the Mini's shown in the pictures around #71 the new versions, or the "old" ones? Hard to tell they got bigger if those are the new ones....

They are unfortunately the old ones. Surprisingly (to me anyway) MINI is choosing to debut the new cars at NAIAS in Detroit in January. They also said that the new cars should be hitting US showrooms around that same time. Considering what a big market SoCal must be to MINI I think it was a mistake to show the old cars here.

It's their new "STi in-all-but-name-and-hp" XT version of the car and all of the Subies had the rally team colors because they announced Travis Pastrana's new contract.

Aha. My ignorance shines through once again. Thank you for the explanation.

I was checking out all of your pictures on your site; very cool. I was hoping to find something in hi-res of the LP640's black wheel. I noticed you took some pretty close-up shots of the wheels on that thing; any chance you could e-mail a larger version of one of those pictures to me? It would be much appreciated.
