While not a super car or exotic... A friend at BMW sent this a few days ago about BMW labs. Some pretty cool stuff like the Nurburgring simulator and the UV chamber. Just click the "watch video" http://www.bmwusa.com/uniquelybmw/Innovations_at_Work.htm?PanelID=5 .m
Right, the only problem with BMW is that when they run out of things to improve, they come up with weird stuff like the i-drive and the dreaded turn indicators that don't stay put. Other than that, it is the best production car on the road.
BMW...best production car on the road...hope that holds true you. I personally would never buy a BMW that was out of warranty or that old. Id prefer Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura
Mine is out of warranty. Blew an engine that cost 23K to replace. BMW fixed it for free as good will. It was a pain in the ass to deal with getting it done, but in the end they came through. I can't even count how many engine of year awards BMW has one year after year. How many cars can top an M5 for peformance and lux? A stock M3 CSL around the ring is 10 seconds slower than a Veyron, beats every Lambo except the Murci, 5 seconds faster than a 430, Stradale and an NSX-R. The McLaren uses a BMW engine. Both the Seraph and Arnage do as well. They sponsor Formula BMW a junior race team. They have won the 24 Hours Nürburgring 18 times. They are one of the few companies in the world that are actually still independant. A sound like this is only bested by a Ferrari IMHO... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRYYe0kLCto A BMW may not be a super car or an exotic, but I have yet to drive a GT style car that is as refined and polished as a BMW. I guess that is why this is my 7th one. Still haven't been able to drive a AMG S class so there is still a chance...
BMW is my favorite car manufacturer because they're very well rounded. A wide variety of different types of cars and all of them are well made and fun to drive. X5, 760Li, M5, etc, etc. Plus, you gotta love the Motorsport division and past racers like the M1 Procar.
The M1 is amazing for its time. Would be great to have one... Just can't find any parts to keep them running! .m
