    Hi Guys,

Just installed AP headers last week and powered off the car before starting up for the first time. The first start was really rough so I switched off and started again this time all was fine. Now it seems every cold start is very rough and i need to shut down right away and start again. Headers are installed ok all bolts appears to be tight. The car has done this a few times before in the 5 years i've owned it but never consistently like this. Any ideas?

I installed AP headers (JetHot coated) on my 2001 360. Just prior to putting them on, I thought to blow compressed air through every passageway. While blowing out the main Secondary Air port, it did not sound right. I found that the main connection was not drilled through to the rail tube. I had to drill this out myself!! I contacted the supplier and AP. AP seemed that they could cared less!!! No apologizes, nothing!!! If I did not catch this and had to remove the header once tracking down the issue, I would be most pissed!!!!

I am not sure how the blocked passageway would effect the car, etc... but I thought I would pass my experience along. I love the sound that I get.

    Hope you get this sorted!!!

I also have the AP headers and have not encountered the consistent rough start that you describe. Definitely try the ECU reset.

    1) Turn off all accessories including radio and air conditioning.
    2) Turn off battery with disconnect switch and leave car overnight or at least 30 minutes until the engine is completely cold.
    3) Reconnect battery.
    4) Insert key and wait 30 seconds.
    5) Turn key to on and leave for 30 seconds.
    6) Start car and let idle for 10 minutes with no inputs whatsoever.
    7) Air conditioning and radio may be turned back on. For Becker radio, insert code.
    8) Drive car gently for about 20 minutes as the ECUs complete their relearning cycle.

Thanks Guys, I think I need to do the relearn again, I didn't let it idle when it started rough and maybe I need to let it idle for a bit to see if the ECU get's itself in order. Mr Block, thanks for the info, the 430 header doesn't have the secondary rail tube, I did blow air through them anyway just to make sure they were clear of any debris :)

Will report back tomorrow when I've had a chance to try the relearn again.

    Hey Guys,

I'm thinking low battery may have been my issue, charged it up overnight and completed the relearn today, all seems fine so far.

    Thanks for all the help

    John.

Glad that it worked out. Easy fixes are the best.
