As the stickers on the packaging state: Do not use impact sockets on these wheel bolts (especially with standard solid metal sockets) - The shock and the knock will crack the chrome the chrome off, causing the bolts to look like crap and corrode.

A case of teaching your granny to suck eggs but:

To avoid damaging the chrome, loosen and tighten the wheel bolts with old fashion hand tools (don't be tempted to use a torque wrench as a breaker bar - they're not designed to be used that way), and use one of these sockets: https://www.hillengineering.co.uk/tools/wheel-related-2/chromesaver-sockets

Sadly, pretty much all of my wheel bolts have damaged chrome, and some have started to corrode.

I could get them all re-chromed, but in this day and age, the cost of re-chroming the wheel bolts to a high standard, is much the same as buying brand new wheel Hill Engineering wheel bolts, so my plan is to buy new wheel bolts, which will be on the car most of the time, but if the car needs to have tyres fitted, or work done that requires the wheels to be removed, I will swap the new wheel bolts for the old wheel bolts for the work to be done, and then swap them back later on.

It's a bit of extra work, but with the cost of refurbishing/replacing wheel bolts, it's worth the time and effort.
