I have a product that does a great job cleaning the tires and rims (Kick acid deluted 10-1 with water). What I am looking for is a great wax for the rims to help them stay clean.

We just purchased a car from the dealership (2009 Maserati) and whatever the detailer used works really good. Brake dust just rinses off the rims (which is amazing for a car that has 35K miles). I would love to use a good wax on the rims for the 360. Thanks for any help.

Wax won't last very long. You may want to consider a sealant like 22ple or Klasse Sealant Glaze (several coats of this). With either, the wheels will need to be thoroughly cleaned and clayed.

I've seen where after the Klasse is applied initially per the instructions (2-3 coats) and then re-applied periodically as a spray-on wipe-off 10:1 dilution and the brake dust just rinses off. This is what I intend to do with my new Scuderia wheels. I already have 2 coats applied prior to even mounting tires.

After a good cleaning and clay bar I like Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant. Holds up well and has some brake dust etching benefits. Be ready for a beverage when applying; has a yummo watermelon scent.

Be very selective if you decide on a glass or armour coating. Only a few are rated for temperatures above what your wheels might reach while tracking and can discolor requiring a paint correction process to remove that layer. The 22ple is rated up to 700 degrees and is a higher rating than most.

Thanks for the responses. I used the Klasse Sealant on the car paint and was pleased. Where can I get Poorboys World Wheel Sealant at (is it available at any of the local automotive stores)?

Best thing is Rejex it is used to protect the side of the helicopter from engine exhaust. I have used it and it works great. Put it on and wait 12 hours before driving. Also good as a car wax for paint protection

HI, If you are specifically looking for a wax try Autofinesse mint rims, its a high temperature wax. available at detailers domain. but it is still a wax and i would rather suggest a coating as people said above, such as opticoat, carbon collective, gtechniq c5 are all great products

BluNart - that is very generous, thanks for the offer but I don't want to put you through all the effort. I was going to try Klasse (which I already have) but that is a paint sealant and my rims are aluminum - so that would probably be a bad idea as there is no paint to seal???? Would it work on straight metal?

    OK.

Poorboy is good on all wheel finishes. Agree on Klasse. Great all-in-one product for painted, rubber and plastic, but haven't tried on metal surfaces.

It is unlikely yom rims are bare aluminum. They are either painted silver with a clear coat or have the clear coat on the aluminum. You should be fine with the Klasse, I am using it for the same reason. l already have it.

22PLE VM1 Wheel and Metal Coating is what you want. It will last well over a year, adds gloss, and makes wheel cleaning easier. It also withstands temps up to 700 degrees and therefore can be used on finished brake calipers as well!

I'll have to let you know. I just got the wheels and have placed 3 coats of Klasse on them but have not mounted them yet. I also mixed a 5:1 dilution for re-application to maintain the coating on both the wheels and the paint. I plan to "spray on, wipe off" the diluted product at every wash if time allows.

I'm sure the product Todd recommended is great , and if d didn't already have the Klan sitting around that is probably what I would use.

    THIS!!!!

Plus, I buy all my 22PLE from Todd for my clients cars! I figure, since im detailing Ferraris and applying coatings, might as well buy from Mr. Ferrari Detailer as well!
