Are there any differences from a 2000 550 to 2001 550? Any reason one is better than the other, or they the same? Thanks, Dave
After 1998, no production changes were applied to the 550 Maranello apart from the availability of modular wheels as an option. Onno
Thanks all, that helps I have searched, but in vain, for a complete list of 2000/2001 550 options. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, Dave
Absolutely right. From the top of my head, these were the possible options: - Coloured calipers (black standard, red/yellow/silver optional) - 250 GT diamond stitching in roof and on leather rear shelf - Fiorano handling pack (from 2000) - Custom exterior colour - Piping on the seats - Daytona seats with or without coloured inserts - Coloured leather on dash - Coloured steering wheel - Alcantara dash - Coloured carpets - Carbon fiber trim package (gear knob and dash panel) - Sport seats - Modular wheels - Scuderia shields I seem to remember the Michael Schumacher version (10 built) also had a leather-clad roll bar, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't order this yourself. Hope this helps. Onno
I think only one or two of those made it into the States. It has a two tone exterior paint treatment that is WAY cool, IMO...... Thanks for that picture!
Cool interior. What is that on the transmission hump? Garage door opener? Nitro boost? Machine gun control? or does it flip the license plates from Swedish to Finnish for fast getta ways?
Indeed, I wish it was something sexy like a "secret-door-opener-to-a-Swedish-Vodka-cooler" or similar. Under the drivers seat is an even bigger "box" with cables attached to it.... The truth: It is actually a mobile phone charger from 1998! Remember when mobile phone batteries were as big as shoe boxes? Can't use it for anything today. However, by the sound of it, I can apparently still use it too fool ladies as saying it is some kind of a Mission Impossible-gadget....or maybe a Mojo device... And yes, the car is a 98-model. I assume Mr Shue joined the Ferrari-team at the time and needed a company car.... Regards Patrik
More pics on http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=136915482#post136915482 At the time, I was told some 24 pcs of the "Schumacher edition" were ever made. However, recently, I have been told by a local Ferrari dealer, it was more like between 10-12 of them. Anyway, this is the only one in Scandinavia. And I am surprised not finding any information at all, when "googling", on what private cars Mr Schue has previously or presently owned. Do you guys have any additional information on Michael's car collection?
Ah, I see my remark worked - I was wondering if you'd respond, Patrik. Always nice to see your amazing car. Onno
