You must be getting bored to be looking at Bentleys again.

Oh, what the heck, lately I have really been getting the hots for a MB 6.3 or 6.9.

There has got to be a way to get that F40 ! Why 3 and not 4 ?

 

In March, I bought a 1995 Turbo R blk/blk with 21k miles, one owner, serviced at our local dealer every six months regardless of milage (this is the suggested interval), really mint condition = 60 grand incl/tax, etc. Original msrp was around 180k.

I have driven it 10k miles and like this car ALOT. Two services later and all is well - zero problems.

The earlier cars can look like real deals in the 20's but the service history is critical.

I had a 81 Roller for 6 years and loved every mile on it. Never had a major problem, one of the most dependable cars I've had.

It is a very heavy car - over 6000 lbs - but the when you punch it she just squats and blasts-off. Yes, not much fun on twisty roads but for highspeed interstate travel it is great. The sound is pretty impressive too. Plus you are totally surrounded with leather and burl wood. There is nothing plastic or flimsy in the cabin.

I'm sure there are some good articles that can give you a better impression than my limited prose. Bottom line for me is that she is a keeper.

 

Sounds great. I'm in an A8 right now and love it (aluminum = only ~4,000lbs), but have wanted a Bentley as my cruiser for a few years...

 

wow, if you can swing an f40 before they go through the roof, I would go for it. Make her happy and sell a couple, pick up an f40 and everyone will live happily ever after.....

 

I would hold out for an Arnage. They have really come down in price and are way more car and way more reliable than the Turbo R's. I haven't had any issues with mine and have had it for 4 years now. Just don't get a 99.

 

I have a couple of comments since I work on these things every day. First off don't be too quick to poo poo the green label Arnage. The best part about that car are the BMW parts which are pretty cheap compared to the Bentley bits. Plenty of sources for service items, just wait until you need sometning from Crewe and see what I mean. The older 89-98 cars are very tough and best if driven often. They absolutely hate sitting around, thats where your leaking suspension spheres and dead electronic tranny actuators come from. Not to mention the $3k ignition switches that are on worldwide backorder DOH!!
