Hi all, Since I bought my 328 last year, I have been trying to figure out why the exhaust tips don't come out through the rear grill centred. They are offset towards the passenger side, rubbing against grill, damaging it. I have always been looking at the hangers and stuff. But I looked into the stack of previous invoices last night, and noticed an invoice for an Ebay "Free-Flow Cat, fits 308-328" purchase from six years ago. So I am questioning the Cat length being too short. If someone can give me a flange face to flange face length of their cat/bypass, that would be greatly appreciated. Regards
Measured an old hyperflow I have lying around, which fit fine when I was using it on my Mondial (same fitment as for 328), 335mm length flange to flange. A similar issue came up on the Mondial board, the correct procedure is to loosen all the bolts of the muffler to the cat, and the cat to the header or imtermediate pipes, then centre the muffler with a jack or some sort of support, probably with a helper, and tighten things back up. If your various pipe gaskets are original, they may be really stuck on, and so what should be simple could get more challenging. But it is worth loosening a few bolts and seeing if things free up easily if so have a go at it.
