I am looking for the selection committee of Meadowbrook Concours (show first week in August) for a nice Miura. The class is midengine sportscars pre 1973. Period color car is preferred. Requirements, cars needs to be nice, but not perfect (BTW perfect and Miura are grammatically incorrect to use in an English sentence), not nuts and bolts judging at Meadowbrook. Ideas? Contact me privately at [email protected].
    Thank you

    Tom,
There are lots of cars back East that fit the bill. BTW, there ARE some perfect Miuras out there! I will give you a few ideas:
    Larry Auriana - 5064 - Connecticut
    Lance Willsey - 4968 - Boston
    Joe Battaglia - 5022 - New York
    Christian Brix - 5096 - Chicago
    And a few more besides...
I will be happy to supply you contact info on any of these privately if you wish, as can Gary.

It is my understanding at LEAST one of those "SV" cars will be in an Auction on the West Coast with three other Lamborghini's in August.

Actually take 5096 off that list: its on its way back to Bobileff's for a major service and small body refurbishment, and then to a studio photoshoot in LA in late August before returning back to its owner in Chicago. He says today its a 'keeper' but not available for Meadowbrook this year....

If you need a place to store the Mirua that's close to Meadow Brook I think that I could clear space in my garage. :)

Hope that you can find a car, I look forward to seeing one at Meadow Brook this year.

Not the one I was thinking of....but...nice to know

Thought this car was "perfect" when it was sold for a "World Record Amount"?

Did he have an accident in it or something?

It was indeed perfect and it was indeed sold for a world record amount. But you know only too well what happens when you use these cars.... upon closing the front hood the leading edge of the doors will be struck unless they are closed. The result can be that a sliver of paint can be removed, in this case 1 inch by half-an-inch. Very common with Miuras indeed - if you actually use them. I hope this generous explanation satisfies the concern you have for his beautiful Miura SV, and I hate to dissapoint you, no he did not suffer an "accident", or "something".

Another SV I have recently sold is in fact now the car that has achieved the new "World Record Amount" you speak of. The purchaser of that car tells me he will have it on the track at Sonoma where he often races his Ferrari 250 GTO. I doubt it will stay perfect for long...

I am well-informed of the various owner's intentions with the other 3 chassis numbers I mentioned. At least one of them is able to accomodate the thread starter's request which is what matters here.

Oh good, was worried there for a second...

Yes quite a common mistake...ALWAYS close that drivers door before dropping your front nose....I ALSO learned the hard way and forgot once..but it is a mistake you only make once..

That would be GREAT to see it on the track...A DRIVER thats what I love to see...GOOD for him!!

Sometime my brain looses communication with my fingers. It's generally not as big of a problem as when it looses communication with my mouth though. :)
