Hung out with a friend last night who is about to buy a new 360 Spider. He wants a new red spider with a manual transmission.

He found a new 2004 at an unnamed dealership and he was quoted $230,000. You guys know of a better new-car deal from a legit dealer in our area? He's ready to pull the trigger today, but I told him to hold off until I checked with the NY Tri-State group at Fchat.

Did a little research already, but thought maybe one of you might know something I don't. PM or e-mail me if you can help.

I know this is "bench buying", but does he really need a brand new one right now (i.e. going into Fall/Winter?). Unless money is really no object, I have very little doubt that waiting a few weeks/months and looking for an '02 or '03 with low mileage, he could save $30 - $40k -- while I don't have a specific car right now, I do know of vehicles like that going for the $200s and below in recent weeks/months....

But, as I said, if he's willing to spend $30k on the "newness", then I think that's a reasonable (not good per se, but reasonable) price.

    Noah,
The man is one of those Italian types that has had this idea in mind for some time. I met up with him last night, and he only brought this up when he saw my 355, and told me he was going today to buy the thing.

His mind is 100% made up, and he wants a new one with the full warranty - cost is not much of an object for him, but as he's a friend, I thought I might be able to save him some cash (which he'd love to do).
