    Hey guys,

I am getting married next year in August. We would like to get married on the beach somewhere along the coast between Laguna Beach and Santa Barbara (We want this wedding to be fairly close by). Does anyone have any suggestions for hotels that could accomodate us???? We have looked into Shutters, The Sunset Restuarant, Lowes Santa Monica and a few others. We want to look into more places before we make the final move. Please help me try to find the best location for this special day for us. Sorry this has nothing to do with Ferraris but maybe someone here has some contacts at some local beach resorts that hold weddings. I really appreciate it guys!!!!

    Thanks,

    Greg

I'd be curious to hear about this as well. My fiance is planning our wedding and she might like a few ideas.

St. Regis Monarch Beach (Dana Point) is very nice. I looked at it for my wedding (end of this month, but we're doing it down in San Diego at the Four Seasons). It's pretty pricey, though. Ballpark about $700-$1000 per guest.

The Montage in Laguna is, IMO, even nicer (but also very expensive... quoted us something like $120,000).

Look into the aforementioned Bacara and the The Fess Parker Doubletree in Santa Barbara.

    Oh, and congratulations.

Bacara, while very nice (we had a very nice stay there in June), doesn't have a decent beach (it's rocky, narrow, and has little balls of black tar washing up on the beach (from natural underwater seeps). The weddings are staged up on the hill overlooking the water, adjacent to the Miro restaurant. You'd have to stage all the photos so there are no oil derricks in the background.....

Bacara is North of Santa Barbara by about 12 miles. The Biltmore in Montecito is across from the beach. The Padaro Beach Club just South of Montecito is on the beach.

This is where we were planning on having everyone stay for our wedding: http://www.bluelanterninn.com/
We liked it because it not you and 200 other guests like normal hotels. It's small and in a stress-free area.

The Adamson house in Malibu is a State historical property with fabulous views of the ocean and Santa Monica. The State rents the property for just this purpose. My niece was married and had her reception there. Easily handled 120 guests. It is the type of venue that requires you to bring every thing in. A competent caterer can easily handle this.

Love that place. We stayed at a couple of their other locations when we travelled the West Coast up to Seattle. All of them different, but with their own charms. Very cool.

If you are willing not to be on the beach, the Rosenthal Malibu Vineyards in the hills of Malibu is one of the most spectacular sights in all of So Cal, and they do have weddings there. (My partner Laurie Rosenthal was married there). I have never seen a wedding quite like it. It is as close to Europe as you can get.
