There is only one shop in KC that specializes in Ferrari, Rosso Motorsports.

They are in the process of moving into a new facility but they could perform your PPI.

    Contact Chris Hill at 913 707 1710.

Tell him I told you to call.

I am one of the owners, we can do it next week, call Chris again. I don't know if he has your number. But we do not turn clients away, we are swamped this week, but we will try to accomodate you. Chris is leaving to go out of the country, that is our only conflict.

This should be made "sticky", and referred to when anyone asks how to be successfull in business.

Great attitude Chris! Best of luck with this. I only wish your shop was closer to me...

Rosso Motorsports is not the only shop in town specializing in Ferrari.
Rocket Motors owned by Jeff McCormick is located in Merriam near Johnson Dr. & I-35.
He can be contacted at 816.214.0033.
I have used him exclusively for the past six years first on my 328, and more recently on my 355 which he did the PPI on in Denver.

    Bill,

Sorry, I did not realize Jeff actually had a shop, I have known Jeff for 11 years. I was there when he had Maximum Performance and closed it, then he went to Ferrari of Denver for 2 years or so, then to Aristocrat Mercedes for a couple of years, to Motorcars International for a year or so then to working out of the back of the carpet store, so I am sorry, I just had no idea he actually had is own space now.

Didn't you buy your 328 in 2002? You must have put alot of miles on that 328 shipping it to Denver and Springfield following Jeff! lol

I thought he had just been back from Motorcars just over a year? lol Besides you keep your cars so nice they don't need to be worked on!

I hope he does ok, Jeff is always a fun coversationalist!

    Chris

    Chris,
Those who possess talent, a thirst for knowledge and experience, work hard, never speak negatively about others, and are genuinely good human beings, always do better than ok.

No, I bought my 328 in April 2001, just a bit before the GM of Autosport Gallery was arrested and charged, and convicted of Check Fraud/ Embezzlement/‘Kiting’.

I met Jeff because the car that I was sold had a host of problems: missing parts, had broken parts, and was miss-firing. Jeff was the only person in town that knew how to fix it.
He has always taken the time to do work right, is honest, and fair.

I have used Jeff on my 456GT. He was the only one that returned phone calls when I first acquired it 3 years ago. He always offers advice and a great attitude for any question you may have.

I've spoken with Jeff and we are set up to do the PPI on Monday morning. Thank you all for the advice. I wouldn't be near as knowledgable on 355s if it wasn't for everyone on this forum. You guys are great!

Richard, you have made a great decision going with Jeff.

I too can verify the quality and integrity of Jeff McCormick. He has helped me countless times with my 512TR, as well as my Porsche RS America.

I trust in him enough to help in developing a vintage racing program. He is also working with me on speccing my 599, which I hope would help to confer how much trust I have in him.

I learned long ago to speak to each person I am potentially dealing with and to verify their knowledge and abilities long before any of my money may cross their palms. I also learned to read and listen carefully to others, because they tell more about themselves than those they may deride.

I value integrity more than anything else, especially when it comes to dealing with cars. I throw a suspicious eye to anyone who makes the effort to deride or discredit a competitor, so I suggest that you communicate directly with Jeff (sounds like you have) before you make up your mind about who may be the conversationalist.

    Bill,

It is too bad you misunderstood my post.

Jeff and I have been friends for a long time, significantly longer than you have known him, and I can assure you, Jeff and I have a VERY positive history.

I will not get into my friendship with Jeff, but let me say Jeff has worked on my Ferrari's in the past and Jeff will contiue to help me in the future, in fact he is helping me with an issue on a Ferrari right now.

I think it is petty of you to try to link me in some way to Autosport Gallery when you know I have no association or ownership with Autosport or with the issues one of its owners had in the past.

I thought you and I were friends, but I guess you feel differently. I would not try to cast dispersions of people associated with Autosport as I guess you did not realize that Jeff had worked at Autosport as well.

Autosport is closed due to the health of its owner, not because of any wrongdoing. Its owner by the way is a good friend of Jeff's and mine.

I did not buy Autosport nor do I have any interest in the company that was once Autosport, so why bring it up?

As for my comment about Jeff being a great conversationalist, it is true. Jeff is one of the most interesting automotive story tellers I have ever known. He is fascinating to talk with.

It has long been a topic of conversation between Jeff and I that he should give up his tool box and pick up a microphone. I would love to see Jeff get his own radio show. I know he would be syndicated in a year. Why you chose to make that a negative I do not understand, Jeff has always loved the idea.

If you knew Jeff as well as you claim you do, you would know that.

Jeff has worked at several shops and for various reasons it has not worked out for him, I have stayed friends with Jeff throughout those periods, I am glad he has a new shop and I do hope he does well, I said I hope he does ok, I did not realize "ok" was a negative, let me restate that, I hope he does very well, I believe he deserves it.

Again I am sorry if you misunderstood, I can assure you Jeff knows we are friends and he would have understood what I was saying.

    Chris

I think I need to chime in here. I am pretty active in the car world and many of you know me. One thing I have learned hanging out with the hard-core car guys is that you need to have thick skin. Most of the guys are pretty outgoing and will say things that could easily offend someone.

Chris does know Jeff. When Chris referred to Jeff as a conversationalist, I don’t think it was intended in a bad way. I hear all the time “That guy loves to talk about cars for hours”.

When Chris said “working out of the back of the carpet store”… I laughed. I think there was a carpet store up front and the shop was around the back of a commercial building at his old location.

Bill to a stab back at Autosport. Chris owns Rosso not Autosport.

I have never taken a car to either shop. I don’t personally have a problem with Jeff, Chris, Autosport or Rosso. I have met Jeff a few times, seems like a nice guy. I also like Chris Hill from Autosport. I know Chris P with Rosso very well. He is one of the best car guys on the planet. Don’t take his comments too seriously, he loves to joke around.

PS – The 355 that started this thread is at my place!

    A. “I did not realize Jeff actually had a shop”
If you talk to him as much as you say, and did so at the Buffalo Run, you would know that he has had a shop in Merriam for over a year.

    B. “…then to working out of the back of the carpet store”,
is a completely derogatory statement and it seems as though I am not the only one that viewed the comment as such.

    C. I did not insinuate or link in any way Chris Parr to Autosport Gallery. My comment on ASG was made since the problems that I faced with the purchase of my 328 were how I came to meet Jeff, nothing else. The comment was directed at one person only, none of which is the owner, Chris Hill or Chris Parr. I have no problems whatsoever with the current/recent-past operation and Chris Hill is great guy and excellent mechanic.

    D. “I thought you and I were friends….” You thought wrong, (just kidding!)
Everyone knows how much effort you put into the world of Ferrari and how much fun you are to be around not to mention being a great conversationalist yourself.

chris hill-- the guy is a true italian master-tech and IS like a brother to me.....
chris parr--one of my closest friends (his bluntness can at times be misconstrued as dick-isque and his delivery can be less than pallatable but has heart of a lion)
jeff-- one of the nicest and knowledgeable f-car person i've known.
    bill--seems like a real cool guy...from what i heard..."is a cool cat".
jerry-- he is, too like a brother to me but sadly he expects more from our friendship so i am keeping our relationship at arm length :D

it seems to me a group hug is in order....

Hey Tomf-1 and Jerry D , Before things get out of sorts and we get away from the topic at hand, I think it might be time for you two to POSE elsewhere! Maybe "Backroom Lounge" or "Partners in Paridise."
    Now where were we?

hey lighten up, dscrew.....i am attempting to diffuse a potential heated situation here.

however, at your insistence to getting back on topic, here is my take.....all Richard (the thread originator) wanted was to acquire references for PPI sources. the more the better.......

while i am certain he appreciated the resources of those who offered, he probably doesn't appreciate all the on-going pissing contest about whose "D" is bigger. in the end, he is the one who signs on the front of the check so just help the guy out and let him decide at the end of the day.
