I paid about $250 at pre Euro 1.22 rates from a dealer. If the glass is intact they can be repaired but requires you to break the seal between the glass and the housing. Do as earch on the site for the repair method. All the TRs and many of the 348s have this problem.
The glass seems to be road peppered, it doesn't seem to be milky looking, but it's very fuzzy looking glass. Any dealer want to sell me one?
I also need a right side foglamp for my 512TR,the glass has been cracked, by a stone probably, can you replace just the glass?? if there are any available I would be very interested. Cost for a new unit in the UK is around £450 stirling!!
Dear Comrade Bazzis M8, I have precisely the same problem. I replaced the lamp because it had become milky and then three weeks later collided with cardboard box on the motorway and cracked the glass on the replacement lamp. The other one has started to go milky and now I really need two - but, and as you say, £900 is a lot of money!
I don't know if this is any help, but I recently priced a pair of driving-lamp lenses for a 328. Lenses alone are no longer available and the full assembly is pretty scarce. $600 to 800 a side if you can find them!
I'm looking for a N/S lens for my '91 Testatrossa but can't find one. It may be cheaper to get a batch made up if quite a few people need them - they are very vulnerable.
If it is only "sand blasted', it can be repaired...IIRC, a local club member here in Seattle did this on his 512TR. You can get the materials from Eastwood: http://snipurl.com/8f71 Once fixed, cover it with 3m plastic film, like Stongard.
