T.Rutlands has them, usually in stock at all times! Give them a call and ask for Brian Keegan or Lee Lantz. REAL good guys.

how do you like the faster rack? is the effort noticeably heavier? always something i though the 308s dearly needed. i wonder if the late 328 with the modial/288 rack had a faster steering ratio?

Was the shipping more than the rack?

It is heavier, but I installed power steering at the same time. At speed, the assistance drops to zero, and it's not heavier. The feel of the car is much better, though. I think the 328/288s had the same fast rack.

The steering is heavy at low speeds, but it was before I made the change. So, I didn't notice much of a difference in effort.

Honestly don't recall. If it was really expensive, I probably would remember. I do recall that shipping didn't take long.

What power steering unit did you install? What's it like? Would be nice to have a little assistance at low speeds, but I wouldn't want it to be like a new car.

sounds like the perfect solution! electric type powersteering sourced in the uk i assume? probably can add more caster with the ps

thank you... sound like a worth while trade off to me...

EZ Power Steering. It's basically a common power steering unit with a custom bracket and splined shaft to suit the 308 - they do them for loads of classic cars. I did the instal myself. The sliding spline middle shaft is replaced, so you lose the rake adjustment on the wheel - you just need to set it at the position you want before tightening everything up.

Haven't tried to increase castor, but that would be achievable
