Is anybody around later today or tomorrow? I need to drop my car off at the new Ferrari dealer at Rt 1. to get the trans fixed. their hours are 8:00-5:00pm and I need a ride back to Wayne, NJ. Either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. My normal arrangements fell through.
Truly, thanks everyone. Obviously I missed today. I'm waiting for them to call back to see if we can work something out. They're working on a flat-bed truck contract, but it isn't sealed yet so not available. I'm waiting from a call from them tomorrow. Maybe they can lend me an F40 so I can drive home. Maybe if I promise not to drive it....to say, Friday night to our Marquee night out. (LOL)
Thank you Ken, Jon, Sam, and Baily, for offering help: very much. The deal is I'll take the car there at 8:00am tomorrow. they'll diagnose the car while I work off my laptop. They have a highspeed drop in a public work area I can use to VPN to the office. If it's a trans linkage adjustment (and I think it is) I'll leave with the car later that day. If it's serious, I'll make other arrangements for a ride home. This is nice because it's not left overnight & forgotten for a week a la some shops (and I get to run with the EC crew Friday night!!!) another alternative: they offered to flat-bed it from my home at cost. Lastly, I could have had AAA+ flat bed the car there (it is after all, broken) & pick it up when it was ready. But I shudder having some contracted pineapple flatbedding my ferrari unless absolutely necessary. Stay tuned for my review of the people & service & pricing of this new shop.
Ok. I'm back. my 308 working has a reverse! In a nutshell....FoCNJ was very accomodating letting me wait while they tended to Cara Mia (That's her name, btw). Seems the other repair shop was flat-out wrong by saying a bushing was perfect. Enzo (the mechanic) showed me the play in the trans linkage before he tinkered with it. He installed a new one (the old was pretty much non-existant), changed my oil (I didn't have much choice, because of the repair) and quick-checked where oil was leaking from. I was out of there about 1:30. See the next thread for pics & additional comments.
