Hello everyone, once again I am very new to this forum and to ferraris in general. I have always wanted and dreamed to own the "as I call it" Magnum PI car. On cars.com there is a 1985 Ferrari 308QV for sale locally in Walnut Creek Calif at Prestige Autohaus. I went to see the car and it is very nice and has all service records since new.

The car has 71,000 miles on it and they are asking $33,000 for it. The owner is a very nice lady that knows a lot about Ferraris and exotic sports cars in general. They have a full service shop on location and they service Mclaren Mercedes cars and all models of Ferrari etc. in house. Im seriously considering going for it but would like members advice if this is a good price or not for this vehicle. As I said Im very new to this and not sure if I should offer a lower price or the pricing is right as it is?

Any and all advice/suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Phillip

Irondogmike, thanks for the response to my question. You are correct and the owners name is Miki. Very nice lady that knows her exotic cars that she sells quite well. They said they have service records and the car had a full service 2300 miles ago. They have been in business since 1972 and have a large following.

    First, welcome to the forum.

Second, I think that price is a bit high for that mileage on a that car UNLESS it just had a fresh major.

Have you personally inspected the car? If not, go do that, take some photos and post 'em up here. Also, get the VIN and check it on the registries, that might tell you a lot.

The belt service also has a time element. If it's been 2300 miles and 5 years then the car is due for a belt service again.

There are cheaper cars out there, but price is often tied to condition. At 70K+ this car could be in better condition than some with lower miles. At that price it should be clean, drivers seat bolster (bottom by door) should be good, leather should be good, etc. It's always a good idea to get a second opinion, an inspection by another respected Ferrari shop.
