Another vote...........leave them alone.............. If you're bored and want to paint, you can come paint my house....................
Remember the Viper in the Toys For Tot's Rally? Red car, red lips, black centers. Looked incredible. JP, apparently most of us are computer illiterate. No Photoshop.
Would you happen to have any large versions of those pictures? I would love either shot for my desktop background... And my vote is to definitely leave them the way they are - it looks amazing the way it is...
Leave them the way they are, or go with Rons look. Whatever you do, leave the lip as it is .......IMHO.
I too like them the way they are!!! I am looking for a set of track wheels and I will paint the lips red and the centers black. BUT that will be for the track only. A little to racing IMO for the street. If you are over the black wheels, then Charcoal centers with the polished lips would be very nice - vs. the EXTREME of black with red lips. Plus I am SURE and history has shown, that YOU WILL have issues with the lips when mounting tires, etc. A future maintance nightmare.
I know black wheels are hot now , but I don't really like them except for track use. Kind of makes the car look like they're spare tires. Just my opinion.
Over twenty five years ago, the German's started real car fashion with monochromatic coloring. Remember the original AMG's, ABT Audi's, and VW Rabbits with one color body, wheels, wipers, no chrome, etc? Not just fancy wheels, but true color effects with dropped suspensions, plus 1 or 2 wheels. Last year the German's set a trend again having started, or should I say renewed, two tone paint on cars. Even Ferrari is offering two tones on the 599 and the 612. I've seen an F430 from the factory with two colors, nero and rosso corso. Just like clothing fashion trends, car fashion tends to repeat itself. So now, again from Germany, the monochromatic paint scheme is making a come back. JP, paint the wheel centers body color, leave the lip polished, and you will be ahead of the fashion.
i just feel like red wheels are cheese. if i had a white car, or a greyish car, it would be nice, clean and subtle.
