i have a top marques 1/12 dino spider , it is displayed under a plexiglass cover. i just noticed that the very thin "chrome " surround on the windshield has come loose. the piece has contours that fit the clear windshield and will not lie flat on its own. in other words to glue it down would require that i hold it down in 4 corners . i'm also afraid of spilling excess glue on the windshield . it seems a tiny bit of contact cement would be the way to go. thanks for any advice . dan

I'd use GS Hypo cement - its clear and dries clear. use some fine line tape to hold the part in place. I use watch oilers to apply the glue - you can use the head of a pin that way you are only using a tiny amount.

I would apply glue to the frame and then apply the part, and use tape to hold in place. Cut tape to the smallest amount / length needed. Use of tweezers to keep your fingers glue free is highly recommended.

good luck. what ever you do DONT apply from the tube. it has a long applicator tube and it comes rushing out. I put some on a post it note, and then apply with the head of a pin... that seems the easiest. I also use a pair of 2x readers so the view is really magnified and i can see where the glue is going.

Modelers use a white glue, Canopy Cement (available at most hobby shops like Hobby Lobby) that is water soluble so that if you get any on the glass you can easily wash it off with a wet Q-tip. Yes, as suggested, tape the part in place and let the glue dry overnight.
