Two points here, first this question belongs in the Cars, Motorcycles section. Second point, buy the S4, BMW's are just taxi cabs. ;]

Drove em both. Completely different cars so it all depends on what u want. I am biased against Audi - too much depreciation in early years and attrocious gas mileage in the S4. The RS4 is the way to go in that series, IMO. The BMW is really fine, really really well done if 2 seats is all u need. It is edgy in handling and rewards a good (I mean really well trained or skilled) driver. If ur a normal person, it might seem rough and a bit raw.

If I wanted a 4 seater, I'd go BMW 335i or 335ic; otherwise the M roadster is too cool. If I had the cash and did not mind the depreciation, I'd go RS4. They have already tuned the 335i to 370 Hp without breaking a sweat in the aftermarket.

Screw the S4 and the M coupe and by a Boxer:D
Now it fits better in the Boxer/TR/M thread.
I would go for the S4.
Just can't fall in love with any of Bangle's design farts.

i owned a 2005 S4 for a year, and it really was a fantastic car. It had power in every gear through the whole powerband, and only seemed to pull harder as i upshifted. the gas mileage wasn't great, but it wasn't so horrible that it would be a dealbreaker. and i put a labree fullback exhaust on the car, which produced one of the finest sounds i've ever heard come out of any engine. The car was also fantastic in the rain and snow, and the recaro seats were among the most comfortable i'd ever sat in. the BMW is a nice car, but the creature comforts of the "z" series doesn't even come clost to the luxury involved in the S4. but if all you want it 2 seats, it's a very nice car. just my 2 cents.

If you want a real car....Buy a Lexus IS350 or the GS450 or the sc430, sporty enough and bullet proof. Im sorry but these German cars are overpriced throughout the entire ownership process.

Now that's certainly a departure. As I read the thread, that wasn't even in the running.

Oh, and Mr Lexus, u have got to be kidding. A Lexus is intended for people who do not like to drive. Too many electronic nannies too.

My friend, my gs400 is an extremely fun car to drive.

Not as fun as my 540 BMW, but much better than ay crappy benz i owned.

I use my tipronic all the time, runs great...take one for a drive before you make these comments. I said IS350 or GS450 or SC430 not the ES, or LS.
    Big difference.

I did drive them and was really impressed with how much you can't tell you are in a car. I mean u have to constantly check the tach to see if the car is still running. The desensitizing is amazing, truly. Also the level of refinement in the interior build. Not my thing though; too much cocooning and not enough driver feedback for my tastes. BMW is the finest automobile in the world, well, except for that idiot's styling diversion. Soon all that flame surfacing crap will be gone, however. :)
