    Hey all,

Could someone here kindly provide me with the original Bosch part numbers for the following items for an '82 GTSi?

    -Fuel pump check valve
    -Fuel accumulator
-Control pressure valve (on the side of the fuel distributor)

I'm chasing down a hot start problem and want to have the #s on-hand so when I know what I'll need, I can order everything from my local Bosch supplier.

    Many thanks.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

Not going to be that easy -- but it never is ;)

-Fuel pump check valve = Unless your fuel pump has already been replaced by the later style fuel pump, the check valve is built into the fuel pump itself (and that type of fuel pump is no longer available). See this thread describing P. Newman's work to convert his 512BBi to the later style fuel pump with the replaceable check valve (which also requires some plumbing bits from Larry Fletcher):

If your fuel pump has already been updated to the later style, the check valve is Bosch 1 587 010 532:

    -Fuel accumulator = the one easy one = Bosch 0 438 170 004

-Control pressure valve (on the side of the fuel distributor) = Have never come across this mentioned as a replaceable unit. If it is the trouble, I think you may be sending you whole fuel distributor to Larry Fletcher for rebuilding.

Hope I'm wrong on some of that ;)

    Steve,

Many thanks. The plunger on the side of the fuel head is indeed replaceable. It's sold as a "control pressure repair kit" and comes with new plunger, needle, shims, etc...I've replaced a few in my days working on MBs for hot start issues. They're not a common failure, but also not unknown to fail.

    Cheers,
    Aaron
