I read about this in On magazine, some Plano rag that found it's way to my door. Actually not a bad read, it also had article about Bob Smith Coachworks.

    Dreamgirls? Nah – Dream Garage!

Can we talk? Despite a distinct lack of personal fortune or (ahem) future opportunity, I have no space in my garage. Recent upgrades to same mean two cars in need of cover, along with two motorcycles. And only one of the bikes will fit when both cars are parked inside. To that end I’m petitioning the parents – at the age of 53 – to store one of the bikes in their garage, a suspect request made even more marginal by their innate dislike of bikes. But we’re continuing to push the argument, thinking the ’54 Maserati brings with it enough panache’ – and corrosion – to close the deal. They can consider it a historical artifact.

Those in the Bush tax bracket have, of course, other alternatives. Cresson’s MotorSport Ranch offers not only a recreational track, but also garage space available to any racer/collector with a checkbook. Check any local airport (other than D/FW) and you’re very likely to find planes sharing available space with collectible automobiles. And for every two-stall garage built in affluent areas, you’ve got three-and-four-stall garages built on adjacent lots.

With an obvious need for more space principals with TreVista Group have unveiled plans for Dream Garage USA, a national network of luxury garage facilities (presumably they feature cement floors), with the first scheduled to open in Dallas.

Led by developer Jack Griffin, the garage space will offer a minimum of 1,050 square feet, with prices beginning at approximately $230K. Each – we’re told – will supply a custom design matching the personality of the owner. (As my wife would confirm, I dream in beige.) Suite owners will enjoy access to the nationwide network, allowing you to eventually dream in key metro areas across the country.

At a base price of $230K the cost of entry isn’t cheap, but at this income level the cost of divorce is so much higher. The first area location is scheduled near Love Field. To access it from Fort Worth, fly north to Meacham and hang a right. Happy New Year!

There was an article in the DMN about 4 weeks ago concerning this project.

It seems like an interesting situation but $230 a square foot plus finish out seems a bit potent. I suspect they are targeting the HP crowd.

There are a couple of storage places in town that are accessible and reasonable. But I think for my money I will investigate the raising of the ceiling in my garage and installing one or two lifts. The initial cost might be a bit high but no where near $230/ft. and the cars are immediately available.

Makes what I spent on my House at MSR seem much more reasonable, but that is 60 miles away and Dream Garage is probably a top-drawer facility.

For basic secure indoor storage, I have been using CARS auto storage near Love Field wwwcarsautostorage.com and have been very pleased. John Armstrong runs the place and it is clean, very secure, and about $175/month for a single spot, and I paid about $300/month for two spots.

This is pure storage, but a sensibly priced alternative and I ahve seen all manner of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Muscle Car and other collectibles there.

For $230K I could get a lambo convertible... and have one garage space left. I must have done something right...or wrong?

Greg and I went to look at this one in Keller for $375k.

4.2 acres on private community runway, 2 yo house 2,500 sq. ft., 2,500 sq. ft. hanger, and private pond.

It really was a cool home and the pond was awesome, but maybe a little too big. Pond was over 50% of the property. Hanger was huge. House would be small for family, but nice for a bachelor and chicks that dig it. :)
