My car has lost the emblem off the rear grill. Have had a hard time tracking down a replacement. Anyone know where I can get one? This is for a '91 348TS Thanks!

I just bought one from eBay for $50.00. Just make sure you get the right size...

If you're after the black cavallino then you're going to have to pay big bucks for one if you can find one! (Ricambi's price is $250, whilst Eurospares show them as being @ $123 "NEW To Order Subject to Availability", which more often than not means they don't have them in stock and they don't know when they will).

The chrome cavallino is an easy to come by part used on several models that you should have no trouble finding at all. (Eurospares sell them new for @ $62 or used for @ $34 and there should be plenty for sale on ebay).

The size should be 113mm x 76mm for both.

Why not buy and chrome one and paint it or powder coat it if you want it black?

From memory but that black one doesn't look like my 348TS black one.

pretty sure mine has the look of being simply cut from flat plate, not sculpted like the one shown above. I'm intrigued now so will have to try and dig mine out of the cupboard.

There are two different models... My 1992 348 is stock and has the same black cavallino as the one JLS showed. But I've also seen the other one you're talking about, which I tend to prefer although I like both.

By the way I just checked on an original leaflet that I have here (one that was given by official dealers to potential 348 buyers back in the days) and it's the flat one that is on the red 348 used for the pictures.

If anyone has a 3D printer and is interested I've seen 3D files circulating on the Internet for the flat / extruded one.

I have seen the flat black one fitted to 348s but was unsure if it was totally correct. Most photos show the raised type so I've gone with that. One of those odd Ferrari things I guess.

Update: according to Ricambi the black cavalino is correct for this car.
    JSL: will PM you.

Indeed, all the TS and TB had a black cavallino. I don't know about stock GTBs, challenge, SS, etc. but stock TS and TB only ever had the black cavallino. If it's a TB / TS and it has a chrome cavallino, it is not the original one.

My car is a 1992 TS and is near 100% stock and it has a black cavallino on the rear grill. If it was 100% stock it wouldn't have the chrome cavallino on the front grill (which I may remove one of these days).

My new to me 348 is still going the major after which I will introduce it (and me) to the forum. That's why I am only reading for now...

If there are other black ones available in forgotten drawers I will be happy to buy one as mine does also have the not original chrome one :-(

Still no pics here of the also standard fit flat I.e. Non sculpted, black 348 rear cavallino so for completeness I'll dig mine out and snap it

I've got the official poster sized version of that leaflet and can concur that the picture does show the flat version on the rear end of the car.

However, I also have the original official parts catalogue for the 1990 348 TB/TS and the only black cavallino it lists is for the 3D effect version (and every other parts list I can find on the net lists the 3D version only).

The flat black version is listed as being a Testarossa part but doesn't appear to be linked to the 348 anywhere, even as an option.

It was not an option per se. The flat horses quit being used sometime in 1990 on all models. From then on all that have been supplied are the sculpted ones. Both are currently being shown as good numbers but that was not always the case.
