    Sent my driving gear out to a welding shop owned by a friend to get the fence welded. I got it back with a 1/4 inch hole blown in the fence. Beyond pissed to say the least.

    Discussing compensation with the owner but in the mean time I need a replacement. Ideally I can find a used one since the cost new is over $800.00. This is p/n 144488 and item 16 on the attached drawing.

    If the only destruction is to the fence, but the teeth that engage the timing belt are OK, I would think a decent welding place could either patch that hole, or remove the remaining part of the damaged fence, and (carefully) weld or braze a new fence on there. It my not look beautiful, but should function fine.

    Easy fix. A good used one can probably be found at G.T. Car Parts.
