My boss is slowly getting into cars and just got a Mondial-T. He called me in as his "expert". I know the 348 cold and thought it would be the same. WRONG!

    Some questions:

    1. Where do you jump the battery from?

In the engine compartment there is no red cap with a plus sign on it like in the 348. I assume the cap is gone. Can someone tell me exactly where it is (it was a big bolt in the 348 Spider) and what it looks like or even better send me a pic?

    2. There is a yellow dash light illuminated with a long view of a car and arrrows when you drive.

I switched between sport and comfort mode. It did nothing to the light.

    3. The tonneau top grommetts will not snap on the rear. The ones that I am speaking of are right over the rear deck lid. It is quite tight. I think we rolled the convertible top properly but perhaps I did not, Any tips on getting the top down and the tonneau on?

    4. I thought this car came with the satin red car cover. If not, what did it come with and where do I get one for him?

Any other general Mondial-T tips for driving this car?

    best,

    Rob

PS I did post on the classic forum. But I realized that you guys know all!

Like it alot. Drove like a heavy 95 348 Spider.

Not sure about the T, but in my 82 Mondial, the battery is in the lower front right corner of the car. Got to get it by popping the front hood.

Same here. But the battery leads are basically hidden under covers and are near impossible to get to. Usually Ferrari had a place in the engine compartment where you could jump the cars. Or so I had in the 348 Spider.

Tom B, Ed P. and sjmst (hey, that even rhymes!) are all knowledgeable Mondial owners. Hopefully, they should be able to provide some insight. The guys in the Classic forum are really good as well, so you posted in the right place.

    1) I downloaded and looked through the owners manual at:
    https://www.owners.ferrari.com
But, was not able to find the jumping locations in it. Wish I could help,
bc it took me 2 years to find the locations on my 355 and they're VERY
    useful.

    2) Not sure what the light on the dash is, but I hope the images below help.

    3) The tonneau top grommetts often break (the little metal flaps inside bend
and/or fall out) and need to be replaced - I've already changed a couple
on my 355 tonneau and need to change another soon.

    4) I don't think Mondial's came with car covers, but am not 100% certain on
this one. In any case, Ferrari covers can be purchased through dealer, but
they are grossly overpriced - buy a good aftermarket cover.

    Hope this helps.

Someone on the classic forum said that it is in the center of the engine bay underneath the rear window. Still can't find it!

It is near impossible to jump from the battery in the front boot unless you used 3 inch alligator clips to jump the battery. Standard cables are too big to fit.

Mine is in the front like Sam mentioned. There is a clear cover that snaps over it. It is a tight fit, but I had to jump mine once and thats where I did it. Maybe get one of those jumper things that connect to your cigarette lighter?

Mines a 3.2. The T is a totally different car even though it looks similar.

I called WWoC and Auto Sport Designs, but no one knew of a jump location. One option would be to jump from putting the positive on the alternator and the negative on a ground in the engine compartment.

Unbelieveable that there is not a an alternate place to jump the car from. It is impossible to jump the car from the battery.

See the thread I posted. Might have to remove front right wheel.
