i'm working on a larger art project idea, in which i need to identify the top 4 (four only!) Ferrari for each of the following catagories, but not have any over lap

the emphasis is on most "recognized" shape (profile) & "significance" (winners)
....because the image must be recognized by less than hardcore tifosi, and will be only a minimalist rendering of each

here is what i have so far, but i'd like to know your opinions/input

    thanks :)

Contemporary Road cars? Of course, 308 GTS. It's the most universally recognizeable Ferrari of all!

So then you can't use the 288 for your supercar. F40 has the most distinctive profile.

The F1 car should be the '04 since it is, in these days, the most recognizeable form of F1 car.

The rest of 'em? Heck, I don't know what any of them look like!

true, they are for car enthusiasts to recognize, but not necesarily just layman ....288 vs 308 is a good point, the groups will be made separately

your categories seem to exclude ANY modern V12.

Not sure I understand that thinking. So, I'd add one here, and drop the 458, which wandered pretty far afield in Ferrari Design.

The rest of the categories I do not have nearly enough exposure to comment.

The 308GTB was introduced (fibreglass construction only) in 1975..

The GTS, if you want to give credit to a Hair Dressers Car, should be 1978....

Nope, the TR is in the right spot for this category. 308 is close but...

I agree on the F40 for the supercar - you still see its shape in a lot of signs/advertising.

Agreed on the F1 car as well - though to many ALL open wheel cars look alike.

    cat 5=Car 2

Those are my choices for what it is worth. I would have a modern car like the 458 for sure and the F40 because to me its one of the most recognizable supercars of all time. Also any Schumacher car as well as the two other classics I chose. I was trying to cover all of the bases with my choices and it was hard to not pick the TR.
