Per our discussion in March, Steve and I have scoped out some alternative venues that might provide improved parking. If you have regularly attended our event or plan to attend more in the future, please provide feedback on the following 3 options. If you have another option you want to put forth, feel free to post that too. My only constraint is that you keep it within 15-20 minutes driving time of downtown Ft. Worth. Our next event is on Saturday the 12th at 8:30, so please post your feedback by May 9 if possible.

Option A – Starbucks on Camp Bowie Blvd. across the street from LaMadeline where we normally meet.
Inside seating area – about half the size of LaMadeline’s.
Outside seating area – about the same size as LaMadeline’s.
Food – typical Starbucks (pretty narrow selection).
Parking – if we park close to the street there is a good likelihood of keeping all our vehicles together and protected even without any reserved space; however, they would not be immediately visible from where we sit.

Option B – Yogi’s Bagels on Hulen just south of Vickery Blvd (about 10 minutes southeast of LaMadeline)
Inside seating area – about 2/3 the size of LaMadeline’s
Outside seating area – about twice the size of LaMadeline’s
Food – appears to be a very good variety of American and Mexican breakfast items, hot and cold.
Parking – Steve is working with the owner to see if he will block off some spaces for us if we tell him how many are coming and when. The configuration of the lot with reserved spaces would likely give us good space that is reasonably protected and visible. We won't know about this for a few more days.

Option C – stay at LaMadeline
The biggest concern expressed is the parking situation with a crowded lot and impossible to keep our cars together and protected. People seem to enjoy the food and we’ve been able to accommodate the recent larger crowds inside or outside.

There were numerous other places I looked at but I eliminated the others because of parking inferior to what we have today at LaMadeline. Feel free to ask questions but by May 9 please post your personal preference if you have one. If there is a pretty strong consensus we’ll go with that. If it’s pretty well split, I’ll make the decision and you can vote by showing up or not.

    Thanks.

    Charles

From the descriptions, Yogi's seems like the best choice. Even though I hardly attend, I've seen pictures showing a crowded lot at La Madeleine. I think a venue change would be good.

I hope to attend more in the future, but won't be able to attend next Saturday.

I've been keeping this in mind when I'm out and about, and nothing suitable has really stood out yet. Still looking, though........

I would vote for option B or if it is not available then option C. I was planning to mention this when we all get together again but it might be possible for us to host an event at our place on Airport Freeway. We have ample space and we are about 2.5 miles east of downtown Ft. Worth. We don't have a kitchen, but we could provide breakfast tacos, donuts, coffee, and orange juice. Just a thought.

Steve (Tirepro) has secured an agreement from the owner of Yogi's to both reserve tables for us (if we can provide an estimated number of folks) and to enable us to park along the south perimeter in the lot next door (which he also owns). That lot is totally unused on Saturdays so we should have the pick of the places and it is fully visible from the outdoor tables.

    Any other feedback?

    Thanks Steve!

Are you talking about the Marvin electronics lot? The front lot of Yogi's would never in a million years accommodate us - its hard to find spots regularly (ofc I normally go around 11am-1pm). However, the lot behind Yogi's might be possible as well. I think Yogi's is a great spot if parking works out. The food is great.

Also, for the Starbucks location - couldn't we park along Ridglea theater? I know they have spots all along there.

the Marvin Electronics lot is the place to park. The owner is a good friend of mine and will in fact be coming to our breakfast to socialize and bring one of his cars as he his also a car geek. Let us know a head count as I will call Yogi on Friday to give him the head count for the tables. We can give this a try and see what happens. Oh, If you know some folks that might not come all the time, find a way to get them the info in case they don't look at FC regularly. See everyone on the 12th

As of today it looks like we will have three cars and three people attending the event. If my business partner is able to get back Friday from a business trip then we will add a fourth car and person. See y'all there.

I'm ok with Yogi's, I used to eat there before going to work. Parking at Marvin's would be safer.
