ok, i love ferraris, but i do not own one (yet). i also gotta change my username cause i got rid of the e46 M3 for a new Mercedes. anyway, i saw this really cool PUMA jacket today at a PUMA outlet store. i loved it. i then noticed that it had the ferrari emblem on it and was hesitent at first, but i loved the jacket so i figured i would buy it. i mean, i love ferraris as well. so, would wearing such a jacket make me a "poser?" or, just a guy that has a cool jacket and shows support for an amazing machine? just curious what ferrari owners think. I personally dont like PUMA F stuff too much, I like the older designs better These days I wear NART or Ferrari Club shirts, Very few people have access to these unlike F clothes which everybody wears these days
do you think it is wrong for an automotive (ferrari) enthusiast to wear a jacket like mine if they don't own a ferrari? i wear a red sox cap and i don't play 2nd base for them!!!
As long as you don't mind having to answer 'no' every time you are asked 'do you own a ferrari?'. I have a couple of ferrari clothing items (polo shirt and logo hat) and invariably every time I wear them that's the question that gets asked.
Agree. Everytime. I personally never owned a single piece of ferrari clothing until I owned a car. But, as long as it doesn't bother you,... then go for it.
Nah...don't sweat it, man. I once heard/read a statistic that something like 90% of Harley-Davidson *merchandise* owners (shirts, hats, mugs, car decals, etc.) DON'T own Harleys. Kids with Hotwheels aside, I wouldn't be surprised if the number was in the same ballpark for Ferrari. If you include the kids, take that number up to 98-99%! If you like the jacket, wear it. I like the jacket, and I'd wear it, Ferrari or not! I have both a Ferrari and a couple articles of clothing (2 hats & 1 shirt), yet I never wear them...no particular reason...just don't. <shoulder shrug> I do wear my Ricambi America hat (a forum sponsor) fairly often, though, so I suppose that counts.
I actually like it more if you are a fan but not an owner. I don't wear any Ferrari clothing - it makes me feel like I am rubbing it in! Wear what you like.
I second that. I got red Ferrari polo shirts from speed gear and then had "328 GTS" just like it is on the car embroided under the shield. Can't recall how many people have come up and said, "where's the 328". Was with my son at a FRIDAYS one night and got asked that question and before I could say anything, my son answers "in the garage" at which point the guy asking the question answers "really". I guess people just think you wear the shirt and it supprises them when they find out you have one.
Don't unstich the logo I really like it. I say wear it and don't think twice about it, when people ask them tell them you don't own one but you love the brand and support the racing team. Have some fun if you want, tell them you owned an Enzo but it wasn't unique enough for you so you're currently waiting on the delivery of a F50GT. ;-) j/k
Agree thats the question which when answered results in a series of things like I always wanted one or my dada has one or do you have it with you.
thanks for the replies. maybe i'll just let my colleagues wonder for a bit. LOL ...i'll look good wearing it one day when i have a 575M
What?!? Dude, wear what you want. Just keep it to a maximum of two Ferrari related items at any one time, or you'll end up looking like that infamous guy there are pictures of all over Fchat with the shoes, socks, shorts, shirt, hat and lanyard, all saying Ferrari. HE looks ridiculous Oh, and, I saw that same jacket at PUMA, loved the outside but didn't like all the exposed seams on the inside... Just didn't care for the construction, otherwise I would have bought it. That's obviously a personal preference. Enjoy your jacket. J.
Go ahead, you're a fan! I owned quite a few Ferrari t-shirts long before I owned the car, and it was never a problem. (Now, of course, I own quite a few more!)
Ok, I was at the puma store one day and I saw a guy walk in wearing a ferreri jacket, polo and future cats. My first thought and initial reaction was poser. After politely asking him if he had a ferrari and some talk with the guy it only convinced me that my assumption was correct. He didn't know who schumi is, doesn't own a ferrari, nor has he ever heard of Lotus. IMHO, if you can back up what you wear with enough knowledge to prove that you are a true enthuist, go for it.
Well, Florida is one place where you don't have to go golfing to find someone with an alligator on their shirt. The gators are everywhere, down there.
Asking someone if they own a Ferrari out of pure interest or to maybe know which model is one thing .... but, asking someone to find out if they don't own one is something else. Some people are dorks like that. Buy your gear and wear it proudly. If someone ask you the question, just tell them, not at the moment. Based on their attitude and next question, engage them or blow them off. G
I never intended to own any Ferrari gear until I have the car. Yet, summer of 2005, I made a visit to Ferrari of Atlanta. The people there were so nice, and polite I decided to purchase a few t-shirts and a hat from them.
