Yep, you are right, it will start a screaming match. I'm a 348 owner and yes you are talking crap. The 348 is a great car and yes the 355 is a better car all round. I see you have owned a 348, or alleged to have. You obviously have had a bad experience but please don't do the 348 down, its a fantastic little car. The problem with 355's is that people buy it cos they can. People buy a 348 because they want one. I could have bought a 355 but went for a 348 because thats what i wanted. People who own 348's are generally more passionate about their cars than 355 owners. Only an observation but one I have noticed. I would even go as far to say the 355 is better than a 360 and probably the best 'small' Ferrari ever, but to do down the 348 is an injustice and unwarranted. I cannot question your comments too much based on your personal experience but to say the 348 is a bad car is just plain crazy.
Peter is a consistent stirrer of **** when it comes to the 348 in particular and does himself no favors with his arrogant presentation style. I've just reviewed his posts and off the back of that have just taught myself how to use the ignore function. Just because he says what he says in all caps doesn't validate it and there are plenty of 348 owners here who love their cars, and have had multiple Ferraris and/or sports cars to compare with. I like open cars - so my choice would be the 348 spider over the 355 berlinetta. Each car has issues - the early 355 issues are well documented here - valve guides and exhaust headers cracking come to mind immediately. The 348 has different issues, many of which manifest themselves early on and were remedied to a greater or lesser degree by the end of the model run. I also recognize the 355 is a "better" car than the 348 for any number of the reasons mentioned, and so with sufficient funds I would have purchased a 355 spider (late) over the 348. In my case, I was shopping for a 328 and drove them, then drove a 348 and liked the driving experience way better than the 328. I have driven a 355 as well although not in "anger" but certainly enjoyed that car. If the 348 spider you were considering at Naples is the blu sera over gray, go to http://www.albertfattal.com/PartiFerrari.htm and download video #6 and you will see what you would have looked like and sounded like (with a Tubi/Hyperflow combination) in that car. Best wishes though on whatever your choice is. Cheers Kevin
