Always amazes me the hands on knowledge on Fchat. The girls and guys of this community are definately great.

Can anyone advise me how to get a copy of a 911 emergency call? Im sure it cant be difficult because i hear them on the news all the time. Do they have a bureau to contact? Is it public information?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Call your local police department and ask.

Doesn't sound like it'd be too easy. They know that anyone wanting to access them is probably looking to sue or something or it may mean some type of trouble for them. In the case below even a court order couldn't get them released. It may be different for your area.

    John,

Totally shooting from the hip here, but there may be a way to get them under FOIA (Freedom of Information Act). I don't know about the ambulance case cited in the posting below, but if it's police and you can demonstrate a basic reason why you want the data (i.e. occurred in my neighborhood, involves me, etc.), *maybe* you can just request it. That said, I really don't know. Just guessing here...

    Hope everything is ok!!

Everything is fine! Life is Good! As of today, I can still drive in the great state of NJ and breathe fresh air.

    Oooo Yea!

I called the 911 national hdqrts and they told me it could be requested at the local emergency call center. They said theyd be listed in the blue pages and I cant find them. Im going to stop by my local cop shop this afternoon and see if I can get the 411 on the 911.

    Anyone else have suggestions?
