Looking to replace my factory stereo in my 2000 360 Modena. I want to have a GPS with the new Stereo. A couple of questions: 1. What type of stereo is best to replace my factory unit? 2. Where would you go to have this installation done in the Philadelphia/Southern Jersey area? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!! Bob Y.
There are alot of good headunits out there between the majors with nav. the best place to research is www.crutchfield.com. Locally here just north of Philly my only recommendation would be Worldwide stereo in Montgomeryville. Most of their installers have been their for years and they do customer stuff also. I usally do my own installs, added Nav. and a custom system to my 928 as well as many other cars. Installs are a easier now a days. There are available adapters that tie into the factory harness without chopping. I believe the 360 have a single DIN mount. Should be a straight forward install. If you are inclined to tackle it yourself I would be more than happy to assist.. David
You'll probably find your question has been answered several times in the 360 section with recommended installers in the local geographic section
Bob, I am looking to do the same thing to my 360. Ipod/Iphone, upgrade speakers, sub and an amp. World Wide Stereo in Montgomeryville does work with high end cars and I would trust them. I have used local guys on my other cars but not sure if I would want Best Buy ripping out my Ferrari! I've sent a few PM's and am waiting for replies about suggestions and a range of costs associated with the upgrade. We should work for a package deal! John
John, Sounds like a plan. I do want this done sooner than later though. When are you looking to have yours installed? I am going to reach out to World Wide today. I will let you know. Thanks! Bob
I'll do it as soon as the rain stops! I do know World Wide is a bit expensive when compared to other shops. I hope a few on here will comment on what they put in their cars because it will make things much easier. No sense in having to make our own boxes and modifications if it has already been done. I'll bet a decent headunit is under $250, the Alpine PDX-5 amp under $450 but I am not sure about what speakers will fit and not sure about a sub and enclosure.
