I am looking for a car of similar luxury to my 2011 Range Rover Autobiography, I am considering just ordering the new Range Rover but I would like some other options.

I looked at Mercedes G-Wagons has anyone ever owned one or knows anything about them I hear that they can be quite poor when it comes to long range driving. I would prefer a SUV but all options help. I need this car to be comfortable for doing around 24,000 miles a year for around 3 to 4 years.

£100k is around $155,000 just to save you the conversion ;)

    Thanks

G63 is as cool as they come but have a terrible chassis and a lot of wind noise.

I don't think there's anything better than the new RR V8 if you stay with an SUV.

Yeah I kind of thought that it is also a £30,000 price jump from a top spec Range Rover, I quite fancy a Quattroporte around the £80,000 price but I mainly need a big jeep because I am on a lot of demolition sites and I can't take a Maserati onto that haha

The Porsche Cayenne Diesel S is a nice option. I want my wife to trade her GL350 diesel with 85k miles on one this spring.

I'll second the Cayenne. Got a Turbo - love it. If you want something more "fun" there's also the Audi RS6 Avant, however its got a rather stiff chassis. Still miss mine.

In the States we have a lot more option for SUV, especially if you don't mind getting a used vehicle but customs shops are really mastering the art on bringing car/truck up to date and modernizing it. That is if you wish to do. Thats just out car culture especially with old truck. People will still use an old Straight Six F-1 for their primary work truck. Where as in Japan they would have crushed 40 years back.

But another RR, newer, would be your best bet. I don't Imagine the Porsche being as capable off the lot as an RR or LR. But I still Imagine the Porsche being more capable than other cars /trucks.

I really don't need it for any heavy duty off roading, just a luxury cruiser that can deal with a demolition site. My business partner has a 2014 Landcruiser V8 ($85k) although he says it moves like a boat and he preferred his rr before so it certainly seems it will be a Range Rover I will go for although I will test drive a Cayenne and see what I think :)

You will love the torque of the Cayenne diesel. I just wish that Porsche would offer the Diesel-S in the USA.

Audi S7, RS7, S6, RS6 - interior will match the RR, and it will be MUCH nicer to drive for 99% of your driving. AWD should help around the construction sites.
