Need help getting dinner reservation for SATURDAY(dire need!!!)

    Ok guys, I know this is a nigh on impossible request, but........

    I am coming into town this weekend and am taking a date out to dinner Saturday night for Italian food. Problem is, I have NO RESERVATIONS!

    Wanting to go:

    1. Il Mulino ( I know, I know)
    2. Babbo (again, I know)

    both places are booked, obviously, but does anyone have a string to pull? A name to drop? A way to help out a New Orleanian trying to get some great food in NYC?

    HELP!

    black card has no pull at these places.
    i think ur out of luck. best thing is the call every hour that day to see if they have any cancellations.

    Hey guys,
    Haven't been on my e-mail or Fchat for a while, bc work has been hectic (and they don't support yahoo e-mail).

    I put together a little Excel spreadsheet of the best Italian restaurants in New York and listed my personal picks (my opinion, take it or leave it). I may have left out a couple restaurants, but that's only because I can't personally know ALL of them.

    Yes, Scalinatella is great, eaten there many times. Will go back, but not after checking out the recommendation of another F-chatter! :)

    The red ones on the list are my personal favorites, and the bold ones are places I frequent as much as possible.

    Again, this list is NOT the end all and be all of good Italian restaurants, but it is a fairly comprehensive listing.

    If you know something I don't please let me know.

    P.S. I've heard very good things about Scalinatella, but I've never been there; too many restaurants too little time.
