Yes, where is it? I may be able to help, although now I have to work this weekend... no Cannon Beach for me :-(
Yes where is it? There are several of us in the Portland area that could check an F-car out for you. Don, Sorry to hear ur not making the cannon beach run!
I'd be happy to help as well--I'm on call this weekend, couldn't change it, so I won't be going on the Cannon Beach run. Is the car at Ron Tonkin? Northwest Investment Cars? Post some more info and you can probably get several folks to take a look. Scott
Thanks to all! I gave Wasco the info. This thing sounds real sweet. A 78 year old guy is only the second owner, since 1985! Now showing 29,800 miles with the 30K already done. Actually sold new at Ron Tonkin, and never left town! My bank has merged and the new owners say they don't finance 1977 model cars. What wankers!!! "Hey, honey, can I borrow your MasterCard for a second?" Thanks again guys, looks like a coast to coast drive shaping up! Unless I could organize an Fchat member relay. Wouldn't THAT be something!
"Alaska USA Federal Credit Union" will finance that car...Become a member of the credit union. They just need a professional appraisal. Terms such as 6 years, 5% interest rates can be found there...Good Luck! P.S., my '78 was Ron Tonkin's car, it went through 2 other hands than to me.
Thanks for the info! I'm so frustrated with the length of time this is taking I'm gonna smack the 401K like a pinata! 90 Days to replace that money, without penalties and taxes. It's been awhile since the girls at Fidelity have seen me in the parking lot!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Do you plan on finding a new home for the 'World's Fastest Art Car'? People are always looking for refugees.....................................
Speedy read your email! I forgot to mention but he probly told ya that it comes with an extra set of wheels and tires and euro spoiler. I did NOT drive or ride in it! He did of course start it up and back it out of the garage. I took notes on all the stuff that mine is missing such as carpet on the underside of the engine compartment and foam on underside of front lid to aid better air circulation around radiator. Which I assume was all OE.
Oh ya when you decide to I would love to follow someone in my 308 to say San Diego to hand her off to ya!
Thanks to everybody!! The schedule did NOT allow for all the socializing I would have liked with the Fchat crew. We did make it thru some severe twisties around midnight into Sonoma, in time to do a little wine tasting Saturday with Mr. Andretti. The hood foam and trunk carpets are all original! I can send info on dimensions or patterns to anyone that needs 'em. This will actually be the template for restoration of the Art Car. It's going back to stock appearance also, after New Orleans event this fall. Ron Tonkin sold me some spares and shipped the wheels and spoiler for me. Ya'll let me know if anyone needs the Euro front lip. I just got my CD yesterday of the whole trip. B@sta@rds at Eckerd's charged me $105 for reprints, on three rolls of film that were $9 each for double prints the first time. "The negatives were cut up" was the reason. I told them that's the last Fcar pics they'll see!!! LOL! Image Unavailable, Please Login
