I have a 70th anniversary 488 GTB with a head scratcher of a color. I do have some documentation from TM listing the color as: "Giallo Tre Strati." Now I've heard of Giallo Triplo Strato and Giallo Tristrato which are all triple layer yellows of which mine is as well. My paint tag says Giallo with a cod (code?) number attached. I haven't been able to get anyone at a high end paint/auto body supply to dig this color up and they should have been able to. I didn't go to Ferrari because no need to as of yet.

My assumption is that code is a "custom" mix just for my car or possibly some other cars and that is why there really isn't a lot of mixing info to make it. Might have to be made and ordered by Ferrari, God forbid if I ever need any. Does anyone have some idea(s) on this?

"Cod." = Codice, that's Italian for Code.
It is Giallo Triplo Strato, a.k.a. Giallo Tristrato.
PPG color, should be easy to find.

'Tre strati' means 'three layers' in Italian, and 'triplo strato', or the abbreviation 'Tristrato', means 'triple layer'. Essentially the same meaning but interesting that it's written differently.

Have you seen it side by side with a car in Giallo Tristrato?

No I haven't. I'd like to find a Giallo Triplo Strato/Tristrato car and see what the paint sticker says. My hunch is it will list the name of the color and have no cod (codice/code) numbers like mine. I speculate it's a different hue because of this.

Thank you for posting that. So my speculation is that it's not a standard triple layer color listed like your pic with a full name. That's why they gave it a different name: "Giallo Tre Strati" (not on the paint sticker) and decided to make it slightly different in hue or whatever. I think that's why the paint sticker says Giallo Cod. with the number: 64059355 - which must be the reference number to the formula of that color. A very large authorized PPG dealer was unable to find out anything about this color. I guess it would be a start at the dealer type thing and go from there. I think it all has to do with being a 70th Anniversary car.

Sounds logical. They may have changed something ever so slightly and had to give it a different name, which in your case is a code number.
