I am going to call tomorrow and see if we can get a deal on the GS car but in the mean time, this is the local car that I drove. Rosso corse w/cuio interior, race seat, carbon interior, and very little mile (4,xxx).

Any thoughts on a red F12? I wanted it discreet but Red for Ferrari is nice... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

To me Rosso corsa goes better with beige.

Love it....like the Chris Harris video. And those race seats are nice.
I had corsa and cuio 458. Stunning.

This is basically the same car I have (I have Daytona seats with Black inserts). I love the color :)

If you want discreet then stick to the GS car. As I mentioned before, I think the rare race seats make the red car more desirable. It has all the carbon trimmings (same as the GS car) and it also hasn’t the yellow calipers which you’re musing over.

I thought I wanted yellow calipers on my car too - but again, the silver I have on mine is more discreet and they suit the darker body colour well.

Change out the standard wheels on the red car for a set of silver TDF wheels and you’ll have a hot looking car - inside and out.

If they’re the same money, the red one is definitely better value. But in the end, you can’t go wrong with either. The thing about Ferrari is the passione, follow your heart, not your head...

The outside color was my original conflict. Red makes the car special and I like the red, but the last super car I owned was a white 650S Cab, and I would not drive it as much as I should have because of the "too aggressive look" and attention I would get. My personality makes me not enjoy the car when I get attention.

When I drove the F12 I felt for the first time, I can get the acceleration I like a better sound (I mean the sound is crazy good) and a more toned down car. If I get it in a darker color as well, I could almost drive it as much as I want without having to worry too much.

The downside is the car in grey is "less special".

My 3 boys on the other hand, it took them a second to pick between grey and red, and you know what they picked!

You have 3 boys? Then you need an FF or Lusso ;). It means there won't be any arguments about who gets to go with dad!

When I bought my 2013 F12 last year, the Ferrari dealer painted the calipers from yellow to black at no charge.

And getting the front lip spoiler painted to match the exterior color of the car only cost $1,000

Called the sales person with the GS car, and he said that he tried to talk to the customer whom will not budge from the 215K number, saying he has 3 income new built car and not in a rush to sell.

The sales person also said (he was not pushy at all), I don't think you will find a cheaper car, honestly.

    Should I do it? :)

If your heart says yes, then do it.

If there is any doubt, then there is no doubt (meaning don’t do it).

FWIW, many people see red as a V8 colour so GS is definitely a good colour for a F12. I’d see if you can find an F12 in a dark colour with sports seats and possibly yellow calipers. But that’s just me...

If you feel good about it and if the car gives you a nice feeling of joy, yes you should.

If it makes you twitchy, and if you think the price will always stick in the back of your head as a shadow of doubt, don't.

If I may offer up a bit of insanity and advice nobody asked for, think about this.

If the used price leaves you with doubt, but you have the means to purchase a new 812, have you considered that option? The reasoning being, that you will never be in doubt about whether or not you got a good and fair deal. List prices for a new car are what they are, so not much to lose sleep over so to speak.

Yes, I know it's a bit out there, and I said it would be a bit on the crazy side of thinking. But for some, purchasing new for this very reason, gives peace of mind.

Just some food for thought :)

Sorry for late reply I was busy filling out purchase paperwork! :)

I had the dealer throw in a detail and window tint (Arizona) and called it good

I also offered 200 to the Scottsdale dealer and wouldn’t even counter we were so far off

All in all I think 215 is decent for the car

I started clearing a space in my garage for it

Hopefully a truck can pick it up Friday and be here Wednesday

We posted at the same time!

I actually feel sorry for the person who bought my car when it was new. He, or perhaps the 2nd owner, took a huge depreciation hit on this car. $391K list, and I bought it 5 years later for $230K, which included a full bra, integrated Escort Passport radar detector with laser shifters, free brake caliper color change, window tinting, and a cheap price to repaint the front lip spoiler to a Rosso Berlinetta triple layer paint.

My advice? Pay the $215K, its a great deal

I owned f355 6 speed and a 360 cs both were great but I am too young and too busy to enjoy older cars (4 kids, 3 businesses, only 1 wife tho)

I really think the f12 will fit the bill.

I got the 650s and it was great but I drove it 5k miles in 4 years - too much attention

I hope this is it a more mature discreet car that gives you a great visceral experience and yet is almost as fast as anything else.

    I am pretty excited!

    Congratulations,

It’s clear that your heart said YES! The F12 will trounce the 650s in the engine department and in GS its appearance will be more subtle than the mid engine cars you’ve had.
