After recently being layed off I have decided to sell my 355. Never thought i'd have to sell my ferrari but responsibilities are outweighing my toys. I have been researching prices and I want to make it competitive. So maybe you guys can help. Its a 95 berlinetta, 26k miles, up for 30K service pretty soon, brembo big brake package fronts, new pads in the back last month, paint is perfect except for wheel wells (small chips), leather is in good condition no rippling, carbon fiber interior pieces, maintained heavily since my ownership, factory wheels. shoot me some ballpark estimates, thanks

    "maintained heavily since my ownership"

Do you have documents prior to your ownership from the previous owner(s)?

    header problems? guide problems?

Car looks great, may I suggest taking photos in a better lit setting. I would love to see more pictures detailing inside.

Should have rephrased that, I have taken it in for all maintenance from fluids to brakes. I do have documentaion on the 15K from the previous owner and I have had the fuel sending unit replaced in the last year. It is up for annual and major in the next year which I will take into account on my asking price. It has been my garage baby and well pampered out here at the airport.

52k. Others may say less, but 95s are simply the best year of the 355.

I *might* be selling mine 95 GTB soon too. It currently is having custom headers installed by Competizione, as well as a new alternator and many other improvements. Mine also has a recent major. That being the case, there is no way I will let mine go for 52k. :D

Stupid question here... why is 95 the best year for the 355? In general it seems that the later years of a model are better due to small design flaws, etc being worked out. Did things go backwards with the 355?

Thanks for your patience with me!

I believe it is bc people claim 95 has 10 more hp due to the difference in the air box system I wanna say a 2.7 instead of a 5.2 or something like that...an expert should chime in soon.

ouch, sorry to hear you have to sell :( It is a big chunk of $ to have tied up in a car...

As for price, no clue. I've seen lowball numbers in the $40's, then others asking $70's....so tough to say what they're actually trading at.

Some people like the 2.7 cars for slightly more power, I prefer the later cars (late '98-'99) because they had many updates to improve reliability.

Yea, that 10hp makes guys think the 95 cars are better for some reason, not sure why. Have yet to see a 95 car in as good of shape as my 98.... :D

True Robbie, you do have a VERY celan car. But, 1995s aren't better strictly due to the increased power... There are several other reasons. ;)

snug fitting valve guides create more friction, robbing useful power that could be spinning those tires. Early 355's benefited from high horsepower valve guides ;)

All the F-car Mechanics I have met say they would buy a 95 before any other year. The 2.7 is better for many reasons and here are a few.
Better air flow to the engine
    2 cpu instead of 1
    Easy to remap or chip
Straight pipes dont give all the errors of the 5.2
There are more things that give the 2.7 the upper hand but most will say that the ease of mods make it the better model. Thats why the challenge cars all have the 2.7 configuration.

This may be more of a disadvantage... 2 CPUs to perhaps replace or maintain, and duplicate sensors for the 2 ECUs.

so 355 goal...95' with headers replaced....

do you guys rule out valve guide issues on 95s also?

I personally, prefer 98+ or older with replaced guides and headers

I'd hold onto it, worst time to sell a 355.

Right now and summer is only helping this but low 50'sand expect to drop it for a quick sale.

I'd start at $52,995 and drop it $1,000 every month. Actual sale will probably happen in mid 40's.

    +1
    add to the list...
The air flows to the engine via the ducts behind the driver and passenger windows on the 95 cars. On all 5.2 cars, the air is routed over the radiators via the lower section of the doors. When the radiators kick on, your car is starved of air.
