I need to determine the value of these 2 original books

first one: operating, maintenance and service handbook dated on the back page N, 01/65
green, used with a bit of pencil marks and a note sheet with the heading D.A. Patterson
with hand written diagrams for timing

second book: appears to be of the same vintage and is without a date it is the parts handbook and bears the same title as the other handbook.
used condition with a stain on the front cover.
I'll take more photos later, I must get back to work

I appreciate any and all input
    regards Richard

If original printings you will be pleasantly suprised what these are worth.
I alway like the hand written details too like the one you mentioned!!!

That's what you did, before the internet!!!

These are factory 2nd printing manuals, there was a better quality 2nd printing Parts Manual with different cover and correctly labeled so this PM is more like a 2.5 printing. They sell for a fraction of the first printing books, typically bring $500-900 each. Given the condition of these I would estimate < $500 each. My two cents, good luck with the sale.

How do you tell 1st printing from 2nd printing?

First printing Owners Manual has a glossy three color cover on white background; 1st printing parts has a very pale green(wash almost white) cover with black, orange and blue graphics, binding on 1st parts has 2 brass screws. 2nd printing OM is green cover as shown in OP's photos; there are 2 versions 2nd printing PM, one has textured bright green cover, print quality on par with original VG quality; the second version as in OP's photo is mis-labelled as OM. Print quality for both OM and PM is clearly a step below originals. There are third printing editions which have white covers(both have rudimentary graphics, one is black/red, the other black/yello). look pretty crude and print quality is poor.

What is the value of a true first printing, well preserved? (I don't have one, just find it interesting)

thanks, I have 2 parts catalogs and now I know which one to keep for my car. From your description I have an original with the brass screws and a second printing with green cover and labeled spare parts catalog.

after finding multiple shipping slips in a book collection with Peter Nydrle's name on them,
a bit of Google searching I soon reallize these books once belonged to chassis 08327, sold last year at Bonhams.
I wonder if that killed the him seeing that it sold for $2,640,000

the search also brought up a lawsuit regarding this car.

in Bonhams photos we see a perfect set of books, undoubtedly these would have been working spares...too cool.
