My Scuderia arrived in March 2009.

Now, after 8.000 km, I need to replace the tyres.

The Scuderia uses Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. No doubt here.

235/35 ZR 19 (91Y) DOT XB VO (Front tyres)

    K1, is the Ferrari homologation

DOT, is the week the tyres were made

XB, I was told that it is the country where tyres were made, not sure

    VO, I don´t know

The thing is that the dealer in Portugal said to me that Ferrari was replacing some Scuderia tyres that had XT for some tyres that had XB.

My car has tyres with XB on them.

I don´t know the reason for this, and I don´t know if it has any importance in the car behavior.

If someone knows anything else, please help.

    STOP!!!!

Before you buy new tires, check with your dealer if your car falls within the recall campaign that has been issued by Ferrari of behalf of pirelli. My Scuderia was delivered to me in March 2009. All cars up until just a couple months ago came with defective tires from Pirelli.

Therefore, you are entitled to a brand new set of Pirelli tires from your dealer. Ask your dealer for more information. All 9 Scuderias where i live have had the recall campaign done so we all recieved a brand new set which was installed by our dealer.

DO NOT BUY A SET FROM YOUR LOCAL TIRE SHOP. Chances are they will sell you the old defective model which could result in a catastrophic failure/accident.

    Good luck :)

Tupps, I've already checked with the dealer if my car was within the campaign, and he's not.

When you buy tyres from a local Tyre shop, or from a Ferrari dealer, you must always check the DOT, to see the week and the year of production of the Tyre. No problem here.

Can you tell me if the problem was wiht tyres with XB or XT???

    Tarek, thanks for the link.

Does anyone know if the Scuderia has another tyres homologated????

Do you have an aggressive driving style? Semi slick tires tend to wear out faster when pushed to the limit...

Dinhossauro - you clearly haven't read Tarek's thread - it clearly shows the recall is about XB and your car's date is within the range - unless anyone can advise otherwise I'd talk to the importer (not dealer) and/or Ferrari

greyboxer, I've just finished reading Tarek´s thread, and print some posts to speak with my dealer and see if I can have new tyres.

Tupps11, I'm not an aggressive driver, but I do drive very fast, my Lotus Elise has semi-slick tyres and in 21.000 km it's in the 5th set of tyres.
Max speed in the Scud was 335 km/h.
Max speed in the 575 was 330 km/h, and the tyres last 15.000 km

    Thanks all for the help

This morning I took the Scuderia to the dealer, with some prints from Tarek's thread.

It was clear that my Scuderia was within the recall campaign, so, after wasting the tyres for 8.000 km, I will have 4 new tyres free of charge.

Thanks to all of you in the Ferrari chat for the big help.

All the best for you all

    Well done chaps!

This is what the forums are all about!!!

Another happy enthusiast gets what he deserves instead of being fobbed off by the dealer!

As per the letter I recieved for my 09 Scud.

The following tires fall within the range of the recall. This information is stamped on the sidewall.

    285/35 ZR19 (99Y) K1 LEFT PZERO CORSA
    XB VN J782 2307 Through XB VN J782 2409

    285/35 ZR19 (99Y) K1 RIGHT PZERO CORSA
    XB VN J783 2307 Through XB VN J783 2409

The last four digits correspond to the date of production (Week 23 of 2007 to Week 24 of 2009)
Also the letter indicates that if you have already replaced the defective tires, you can obtain reimbursement from Pirelli for the cost of the new ones.

When I went to get mine replaced, there were 15!!! Scuds/16ms at the dealer (SF)
    Hope this helps.
