I'm happy I've helped. The Challenge exhaust with silencer just meets noise-restricted track requirements which range about 85-88 db maximum. It's a bit louder than the aftermarket exhausts mentioned but has a lower exhaust note. Barry
Thanks Barry. I actually prefer OEM, or Tubi with the lower exhaust tone over the Capristo. Any difference in power between the two different Challenge exhausts?
Jim, I don't notice any difference in power. The exhaust tone is the same but the Challenge "special exhaust silencer" is much louder at wide open throttle. Barry
You're welcome, Jim. Both exhausts were made by ANSA... . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well stated Barry. I have the track noise restricted challenge exhaust on my spider. Had Hyperflows but a bit too loud for my taste. Went back to stock cats. Like the muted sound better. Debating selling the Hyperflows.
That's a rare muffler you have, John. I know how it sounds as my F355 Challenge still has its OEM cats. They were required to have catalytic converters in the North American Ferrari Challenge Series. Barry
Thanks Barry. What I enjoy the most is with the stock cats the exhaust sound transition when the bypass valve opens is far more pronounced!
I would imagine, John! Challenge rules allowed the valves to be removed. So my car is valveless. The catalytic converters do muffle the exhaust on my car. It's just noticeable by the support crew when other F355 Challenge cars are in the same run group.
Guys, I am changing my stock exhaust to a challenge type today and mine doesn't have a bung for the TC. What if I run without the TC? I am assuming CEL will come one. Any one running with out the exhaust TC?
