As the lease on my 88 tr is near its end I am placed in a position to make a decision and need your help. There are 2 or 3 good condition 355"s for sale at about my price range ie 200k aud they are 1997 approx and one is a spider. there is also a 1994 512 tr in immaculate condition with 9000kl on the clock and it is almost show room condition and it is for about the same money. I love both cars but am worried I will miss the testarossa shape and the torque or will I love the driveability of the 355's and what about future resale value in approx 3 years. Which way should I go, I have not used my current Tr as a daily driver due to long nose and possible spoiler damage the 512 tr is better and the 355,s are much easier to use more often. What are your thoughts.Which way should I go? regards Tony

Not an original thought as it has been expressed many times here by others but "drive them both" and let your pref. drives your decision making. However, as an ex 512TR owner I shall attest that it is a bit labor intensive to negotiate in a traffic challenged environment.

I haven't driven a 355 yet so really can't speak with any creditability. Others feel free to pitch in.

i would get the 512... less numbers, more hp and torque and a mid engine 12....with that said, the 355 is one one of all time favorite cars, with a tubi, the 12 sounds slightly better than the 8.... if you want a spider, then you must go with the 355.. you will love both.. the 355 is slightly easier to drive and manuver

There's a discussion happening in the Australian forum about this same matter. Talk to the guy down in there, he's in the same boat as you. He might be able to shed some light. Worth a try.

if you think torque is going to be an issue, the 355 won't feed your need. i sold mine in part 'cuz i realized once and for all that i'm just a torque slut.

Great to get such quick responses. I am a bit of a torque nut but also love the sound and look of the 355. i look forward to other thoughts Tony
