I put a single post lift in by American Custom Lifts about 7 years ago and couldn't be happier with it. Its commercial grade quality, less obtrusive than a 4 post, and much easier to drive on and off due to wider ramps. Check them out.

For 4 post lifts, I recommend DirectLift. Owned by the same company as Rotary (commercial lifts), so a decent service network available - if needed. Have one of these in Wisconsin and am quite pleased with it. Just added a Triumph Classic in Florida, due in part to their unique short length. Functional, but not as nice as the DirectLift. Was lucky to get it one this year from anybody though, due to the shipping/supply chain dilemma. This was the last one my dealer could get...

BTW - both of mine operate off of a 120V/20A circuit and no shop air needed. BendPak, on the other hand, is 220V and needs air to release the safety catches. Two negatives for that brand IMHO.

I got two 4 post lifts from DirectLift back in 2020. They appear to be very well made.

Do they have to dig into the ground to stabilize the single post ?

When I ordered my bendpak they gave me the 220 vs 110 option, both were same price. This is true regarding an airline to release the locks.

No they don't have to dig. They do put bolts into the concrete (concrete should be at least 4" thick) to secure the plate and L shaped section.

Hi Edward, no cons that I can think of in its build quality and performance. Its great for storage and detailing. A full base instead of two separate ramps would be ideal but the ramps that come with it are pretty wide so its not difficult to drive on and off.

One decisive con for me was that I have heated floors. Driving bolts into the concrete runs the risk of going through one of the pipes and ruining my heating system. Very clean solution otherwise.

For what its worth, the 4 post bendpak doesn't require you to bolt to the floor, but I believe it is recommended. I have the bolts and have debated doing it, but haven't been able to bring myself to drill my floor.

I've never felt concerned with it not being bolted--however I definitely would if my wife was parking under it, but thankfully she is terrified to go on that side of the garage.

My four post lifts aren't bolted either. That's the reason I got them.

Bendpak 4 post wide and very happy with it… Did not bolt down to the floor in case it needed to be moved.. which I think they make a special dolly for…not sure .. was a 220 version had to run a special plug to the breaker box.
