    1982 308gtsi. There is a check valve located on the left side of the engine, near the fire wall which has a braided hose connected on one side and a threaded end attatched to a hard line. It's located just above the fuel filter. It seems to be part of the emmisions system. Any help would be appreciated-

    From your description, it sounds like the check valve for the air injection system (which can be replaced by a very similar GM part). Does it look like something in these fellow-FChatter's "old/new" photos? - and is yours in the same "old" condition? ;)

    Also, your US OM should have some good technical figures (Section 3) to help you identify parts and their function (unfortunately, neither Ricambi nor eurospares have the US version SPCs for the 2V-i V8 models on-line).
